The trait “Hidden thief” under shadow arts for thieves is bugged, its meant to grant stealth when using steal, which it does for MH sword/dagger but not for MH pistol or shortbow or rather, it applies the stealth but we then instantly lose it due to an involuntary auto-attack which does not occur with swords or daggers.

the only way to stop this is disabling auto-attacks which is just annoying, i’ve done some snooping and this is not a new bug, its atleast 3 months old and its still not fixed despite making the trait utterly useless for anyone wishing to use MH pistol or shortbow.

ps. this is not caused by arrows/bullets still traveling when using the steal ability as it occurs even if you start the engagement with steal.

i dont have the trait, and its not just from falling, anytime im downed i explode with poisonous gas.

so… i was messing about in Rata Sum and i fell off the side and died however i noticed that i died with a rather nice explosion of green gas, curious i let some mobs in metrica province down me and noticed that once more i exploded with green gas and it poisoned them.

now, the only possible explanation i have for this is that its due to my buying some superior runes of the afflicted which when 6/6 cause something called “death nova” when you’re downed, which i assume is what is happened.

the problem however is that i only have 2 of these runes and they are both safely stored in my bank…
