Why is travel more expensive than the best reward from DEs?

I think there need to be a few changes regarding travel-costs.

1. Traveling to Lion’s Arch should be free. It already is free via the Mists, so why not embrace it?

2. Traveling within the same zone needs a minimum 50% discount. Picking up a few remaining POIs or assisting an event and going back seems extraordinarily expensive.

3. Traveling from one zone to another does however seem fair.

4. But traveling in a low-level zone should be cheaper than a high level zone.

In the end it should look something like this:

Travel cost in Copper = (Character level + Destination level) x distance multiplier (Rata Sum to Lion’s Arch would be roughly 1.0, within the same zone is always 0.3).

So a port from Orr to Lion’s Arch would cost roughly…

Character level 80 + Destination level 15 x distance multiplier (roughly 0.8) + 84 Coppers.

A port back would cost 1 Silver and 28 Coppers.

Porting around within Orr would only cost 48 Coppers.

This strikes me as fair and scales fairly for all levels.

you can get around cheep if you port to the mists and then use a gate to where ever your going , it might not get you exactly where your going but close enough for free

Yeah, Greyfeld, that is an important point. Some of the story missions even pair you up with your race’s Destiny’s Edge hero, so you’d expect them to blitz through at least a couple of the packs quite happily. Yet in practice these renowned adventurers can’t hit for toffee. That’s pretty depressing! I kinda want to be in awe at how powerful they are, knowing that one day I too will be that strong.

But the way it works now, they just feel neutered.

yea Forgal Kernsson is down pretty fast in the (battle for claw island) you seem to do way more dmg than he does and that shouldn’t be

Engineer here. Set to Blow and Claw Island were deathtraps with slews of armor repair fees afterwards. Even using a turret-focused build which SHOULD be a “Hold this point down, solidify it, and kill anything coming at you” I couldn’t hold a point worth anything.

Guardian here. stuck at claw Island level 50, i have given up gonna gain a few levels and come back to it, the repairs are just to much

Why does the Skin Sets Say Account Based?

The item not account based, its “account bound”. Meaning that when you buy it, you can use it only on toons in your account. (this is what “account bound” stands for).

The number of uses is a different deal. Skins only have 1 use, so only 1 toon of your account can use it.

I’m guessing you are going to hate it even more when yo notice that if you want to re apply the skin to a new armor piece (say when you outgrow you current armor) you will need to use transmutation stones (also for sale on the TP!) to re use the skin that you bought…

Skins are a really bad deal in GW2, don’t buy them.

I don’t mind the whole 1 skin per toon, but paying more to re apply the skins is just wrong. When skins work like the HoM rewards, then I will shut up and Anet can have (more of) my money

it don’t always work either it says it’s good to go but nothing happens except it uses a transmutation stone

oh hey. . guess what. you arent required to use travel points.

I don’t believe they were intended to allow immediate travel anywhere. They are there to give you the choice to spend hard earned silver for convenience. And thats what they do.

There should always be a voice in the back of your head saying, “should i just run there?”

Oh hey guess what would be nice to encourage not spamming way-points…Mounts!

Its such a great immersive world I don’t understand why Anet insists on making us rely on the instant teleport system to navigate the world. Also give them something more to stick in the store since gems aren’t worthkitten all right now…

here here
this game needs mounts……… running everywhere is a joke unfortunately not the funny kind of joke
