Guild Wars 2

Last night I decided to play on my TV screen through a HMDI cable. Everything went fine and after about an hour or so of enjoying Tyria on the big screen I logged off.

But since then, whenever I try to log in the game freezes after I press the Play button. I don’t even get to the character select screen, my cursor changes to the little hand but my screen stays black and my whole computer freezes. I can’t even alt-tab or ctrl-alt-del my way out of the it.

I seem to remember a lot of posts about a ‘black screen of death’ right after launch but my game always ran fine (apart from some lag issues) so is it possible something went wrong because of the HDMI connection? Like my computer tries to go into ‘hdmi-mode’ whenever I launch the game? (idk I’m just grasping at straws here…)

I’ve passed the one month mark and the game is still unplayable… Can’t really do anything social in the game anymore scince I can’t carry my weight anymore in dungeons, fractals etc. because of the lag and subsequent disconnects.

Is it possible something went wrong during an update? Could it possibly help to do a clean install? or would that just be a waste of time?

Also on EU Far Shiverpeak with the same problems. Though i’ve been having these issues for more than two weeks now.

I’ve been having those kind of lag (followed by DC) issues scince, idk, a week or two now? It’s not related to dragon events or big wvwvw zergs (at least not in my case), it’s not a fps drop, just old school lag. It started after a mini patch, if i remember correctly. The worst thing about it is that I’m afraid to go in a dungeon these days because there’s a very big chance i’ll dc about 5 times and lagski my way through it, wasting everyone elses time. I highly doubt that all of the suddon my isp has decided to screw me over and scince it started fairly recently I guess the problem must be somewhere on Anet’s side; though I’m by no means an epert in connectivity issues so I could of course be wrong. Would like to know for sure though… At least if I knew for sure I could find some kind of solution or just spare myself the disappointment of logging in to the lagfest all together.
