Illusionary Leap needs updating

You are assuming that it is always supposed to work.

If that was the case it should work more like Flashing Blade or Infiltrator’s Strike(sword 2 on guardian and thief).

Where did I say anything like that? Where did I assumed it should “always” work? I am assuming it should work more often than what it does now. That is rarely. Even with double immob there are traitlines that makes it still not “work” on the target, but my wish is that the counter the skill is not just by moving around. That’s kittened.

All I wish it would take in consideration moving targets and how painfully low the the chance for it is to connect as it is AND then even if it connects there’s countering traits that ignores immobilization. The initiating cripple for 1sec will not help the swap land nowadays and the targets move out of range by the time of swap.

Too much to ask?

This sound like it’s a change for pvp/wvw. I don’t see how being guaranteed to catch someone using something like super speed and condi clears in their build is fair to the opposing player or pve mob.

I don’t think you see the problem, or maybe it’s just with the players like me who play with 160 ping. Even without superspeed, the moving target will be out of range by the time you swap even if you do it asap. The cripple does next to nothing to keep the target within the clone range for swap. Thus my suggestion for 1+1 immob instead of cripple + 2 sec immob. It STILL doesn’t do anything to players with thaits that counter movement restrictions BUT it would actually have greater chance to connect with the players that do not even have the trait. Now it’s countered just by moving and like my fellow mesmer said “you pretty much need to have the target stunned first”. That should not be a requisition with a skill that isn’t that powerful in the first place. My wish is just that the devs would take a second look at the skill (now that the traits counter mover restrictions) and maybe update it a bit. Not asking to break it, asking to fix it so it would work and connect as intended.

Hello.

This is more like suggestion, but since I couldn’t find a forum just for suggestions, I’ll post here instead. So.. in my opinion Mesmer’s skill Illusionary leap needs an update. Before you guys get mad saying that mesmers need nerfing, I am not denying that or against it. However, I feel like the skill almost never works as it is intented.

On the first activation, the skill gives cripple (1sec) and 2 stacks of vunerability (5sec). IF some weird reason the target in’t moving, you can swap to it landing 2 sec immobility. With the current traits that give lowered durations on movevent restricting conditions, it feels like the skill hardly ever lands just because the target is not in the range of the clone by the time you would like to swap with it.

My suggestion? Lose the cripple from it and make it 1 sec immobilation on first activation and another 1 sec on swap instead of cripple with on first activation and 2 sec immobilation swap. It should not ‘break’ the skill on toons that focus on long duration condis, but it would make the swapping connect way more often so that the skill would actually work like intended.

Hello everyone!

Sorry if the topic is handled recently already because I’m not active on the forums. My question is; Are hybrid mesmers dead and if not, what build you find to be working in wvw or spvp at least as well as pure condi or pure power?

I somehow feel like they nerfed all the power from hybrid and now you need to be full condition damage or none at all.

We all know wvw rank pass level 1400 when you master everything gives nothing. Let us setup this rank as our title. Then maybe we got some reason to grind this 9000 level of bullish**.

And even if the goal is not to max level, it’s still fun to out level your friends. People who wvw are naturally competitive so why not give us this little thing we can compete each other on?

When it comes to actually making the title that follows your current wvw rank, I don’t think that it’s hard to make. I admit that I don’t know first thing about coding, but showing the information that is already followed by the game doesn’t sound complicated or time taking to be made. Devs please make this happen!

Thank you for your replies.

I don’t think this will lead to WvW elitism either…

I have hard time to think how it would since it would be optional to select and use the title or not. Secondly it would give some idea of the experience level of the player in the way that you do not need to question if he/she has some siege mastery or knows the basics how siege golems work.

The current system is that we know the ranks of our enemies in wvw as we see them, but we don’t have an idea how high rank our guildies or fellow players on the same side are. I would also rather hang in LA showing my wvw rank than any of the pve “achievement” titles since I’m focused on that part of the game.

Hello

There are several titles you can get from various achievements that you can select for your toons and are shown under your name to fellow players. However one thing you can not see is the current wvw rank of the players that are on your side.

My suggestion is that wvw ranks should be considered as achievements and you should have an option to select “<Your current wvw rank>” from Hero -> Achievement drop box so that the players on your side would see your rank too. The information is available for your enemies but somehow is hidden to players on your side. If you make it an optional (you can choose whether to show your rank as your title or not) I fail to see how it would have any negative effect among players. What I mean by “your current wvw rank” is that it would automatically follow your wvw ranks and you can not select it to show any previous ranks you have gained nor need to update it for every name rank you get. It would also be enough to see the rank title and not the current rank level.

For example: “Silver General”
and not: “Rank 1,203: Silver General”

What do you think of the suggestion?

Yours Silver General,
