It is very difficult to pick one class for other player, as things you enjoy in the game can be fairly different. Some players want to do most damage. Some players want to make sure they survive. Some only play open world PvE content, others do mostly champs, or fractals or PvP or WvW.

If I would just trying to pick some classes for you:

  • Elementalist is capable in every game mode, but be prepared to learn how to switch between fire/water/air
  • Necro is really strong, nearly unkillable. It has several really good builds (power, tank, condi, minions)
  • Ranger is probably easiest class to play in PvE as they rely on their pet and have strong ranged damage. Their elite spec, Druid, is the only proper Healer class, very useful for endgame group content

I find other classes a bit lacking, but surely there are many players who completely disagree with everything I said.

Right now I am levelling a Necromancer and after I tried out reaper in heart of the mists I fell in love with the class

Awwww ): I’m sorry I couldn’t be of more help. At least you should have less crashes, if you had any, while on the 64-bit client.

If anything it was more buggy :/ but at least I know that there will be a 62 bit launcher soon when it comes out of beta.

Currently I have a level 80 Warrior but I want to play my necromancer in heart of thorns.

Therefore I want to level him quickly so I can access reaper etc.
So I have a few questions:
Can you craft to 80?
Is EotM still viable?
Are there any other methods that give you quick xp?

Any advice is appreciated

I recommend downloading that, there are instructions in this thread to help you. Personally, I noticed a 10-15 frame rate improvement on my laptop. Hope this helps!

Unfortunately it didnt do the same for me

By chance, are you using the 64-bit client? Also, the HoT maps take up a considerable amount of your GPU, which could be why. I know that Verdant Brink, especially near the Itzel Way Point, is hard for both my laptop and my desktop. It is much more noticeable on my laptop, as it has significantly less dedicated memory.

I am not using the 64 bit client although I do have a 64 bit OS

For a while now I have been getting low fps no matter what settings I play on. In central tyria i ranges from 20fps to 40 fps and in areas like Verdant Brink I get no more than 20 fps. If i decrease or increase my settings there is only a 1 or 2 frame difference.
My specs are i5 4200U quad core 1.6ghz and AMD Radeon HD 8870M. My RAM is 8gb.

I play on a laptop but my specs should be fine for medium settings.

To join the guild you need to specify first if you play in EU or US server. I usually see guilds recruiting in all starter areas and major cities. Just keep an eye on the map chat. Also lot of players gather up to world bosses so its good idea to ask about guilds there.

For classes… have you bought HoT expansion? HoT added 1 completely new class, Revenant, and new elite spec + new weapon to each class.

I have bought the expansion but I am still not sure what class to focus on. Also I am on eu

I am a returning player who had played just over a year ago and I am wondering what specializations were fun and interesting. At the moment I only have a level 80 warrior but I am willing to consider others.
Also I will be wanting to join a friendly guild to talk with and do various activities in pve, pvp and wvw so could I also have some advice about how I can find a guild.

Thanks
