I am posting this from a friends account.
On Saturday 8/9/12 I received a courteous and ironically un-funny e-mail from ArenaNet informing me that someone – hopefully me, had changed the email address associated with my account. At no point was I offered the opportunity to confirm or decline this change and neither was I informed of the new email address that it was changed to. I am astounded that developers of such an anticipated game did not put a simple URL confirmation in the email which would have prevented all of this mayhem.
I am posting here because I want you to return my account to my posession. I am also posting here because I intend to ensure that you take responsibility for prosecuting the perpetrator that has accessed my account without authorisation and I expect to be fully compensated for such pathetic organisation on your behalf.
And before you attempt to shift the blame, I bought a brand new gaming PC fully installed with antivirus software to play this game. I also used an old e-mail address with an entirely new password to create the account and I am not a member of any fan sites whatsoever.
