Urgh, the unsightly hand glow. Can we dim it right down? Or have a toggle to toggle it off?

It is unnecessary, since your utility and UI change colour based on the theme of your current legend.

The main reason why I dont like it is because to clashes with colour palettes I choose to dress my gear with. It severely limits dye choices, particularly Shiro’s Green.

Anyone else agree? Let’s remove the useless things.

THIS!!! i was hoping i would find a thread about this. I can’t even play revenant/elementalist/guardian and i had to shelve my warrior(berserker) because of the glows. I love the mechanics of the revenant and elementalist and i really want to play them but i just cant get over the ugly glows on their hands. I know too most people this sounds stupid, but to me its extremely important.

Honestly i wouldnt even mind if they were only their during combat, leave them off even if i unsheathe my weapon. Have them turn on when they start combat.

Hello Arenanet

Wow, where do i begin… I am a long time guild wars fan and a guild wars 2 fan since guild wars launch. Everything about Heart of Thorns has meet and exceeded my expectations in terms of content, design, and mechanics.

I really hope you guys can launch more expansions like this and im hoping my post can encourage you guys to start the next one!

Anyways here’s my feedback.

1) Map Design is absolutely amazing in this expansion, i really feel more immersed in the story/game because of how large and intricate the designs of the areas are.

Exploration has never been better and i’m truly having a blast exploring every nook and cranny of each every new map. The vertical stages also add a new layer of exploration that the old maps did not have.

2) Story telling – The change in the way you guys delivered the story is a VAST IMPROVEMENT. I really can’t stress enough about how much better the story is! Everything about the story telling is better (new cutscenes, voices on our characters, and cinematic cutscenes)

3) PVP – Stronghold is my new favorite map, I am glad you were able to keep games around 10 mins long. I also like that im able to get more 1v1’s and 2v2s with the way the map is layed out. Also alot of classes that werent meta got significantly approved and is able to compete now.

4) Specializations – I am actually surpised about how much a specialization can change a class. Although, There are some classes though that i wish had more unique changes to their core mechanic (engineer/thief)

5) WvWvW – This is the only thing that i am slightly bummed on. The map is absolutely beautiful and i really can’t wait to play on it. Keyword “cant wait”, The current issue is that there are 3 of the maps and they are so gigantic that nobody wants to play on them because they cant find any enemies. I would really enjoy this mode better if you just got rid of the 3 maps and made it 1 map + eternal battlegrounds. I feel more people would play this mode if the population was there.

What nonsense is this?
Lore wise, I would say you are pushing it. Ventari’s tablet was suppose to be the wall that the The Grove’s Sylvari’s could get “some” immunity from Mordremoth influences. But now, you are saying every Sylvari could changed even player characters.

Ok, I don’t really care about the lore too much but I can almost see what you are trying to do. You are trying to “force” a PvP into PvE with this. Say some players suddenly turned and could attack friendly players, so other friendly players have to attack those players that turned during PvE to make them come back to their senses. Is this your plan ANET?

Tell me. If this is your plan, I will delete all my Sylvari characters and make humans characters as their expansion equivalent of this nonsense is probably years away.

Or better yet, may I suggest you ANET, REMOVE the Sylvari race as playable character all together. That way, it will solve your story loophole that you yourself created and you can make an event where we players burn The Grove to the ground. Doesn’t matter if those Sylvari are good, they “WILL TURN” anyways according to you. So, wouldn’t it be a good idea for the other races to Pre-empt an attack to destroy the Sylvari first before they turn?

It was a good idea in Minority Report. Why not in this situation?

Oh i hope so much that this will happen. The more pvp the better, also pvp in pve zones have alot more smaller battles and 1v1s that i enjoy more then the giant zerg vs zerg. Please anet do this!!!!!

Visiting Other Guild Halls and PVP Arena

Hello,

I was wondering if there will be a feature like in Trove where people can visit other peoples guild hall as a visitor without an invitation. The main reason im asking is because i really like the PVP arena idea but i dont have a big guild and im not really a social type person but i do want to experience the PVP arena. I was hoping that Anet would make it easy for a players to participate in pvp arenas without having to make friends and join guilds in order to fight people. If this hasnt been discussed yet i do have a couple of suggestions.

1) have a lobby list like the custom game list for all the guild halls that clicked an “allow visitor”option. This will allow people like me who dont join guilds to visit a guild thats doing alot of Arena pvp.

2) Have a queue for Guild Hall Arenas (this would be my most preferred option)

3) make a lobby list for just arenas, people can have a public or private option.

Only thing i want.. New Combat Sounds

The only thing i could really ask for in this expansion is new combat sounds.

Nothing bothers me more then when slicing/smashing/impaling monsters is the sounds of the blade/hammer/axe hitting them. Currently the sounds are extremely low, the slicing sounds like whiffing, and the hammer sounds like soft knocks. Its very hard to determine whether you hit an enemy or not because the sounds are not distinct.

Combat sounds are extremely important in both Immersion and Gameplay. Having a good impactful sound makes it easy for a person to understand whats going on in the battle. As for immersion, the combat sounds make the battle feel like a nerf war with your brother or sister.

Please Anet, if you can offer us new combat sounds i would spend extra money in the Black Lion shop!!

Did this patch fix this problem yet? This is kind of ridiculous the game has been out for a month now and this error is not fixed. Its about time we get an ANET response on what they are doing. Atleast aknowledge they havent forgotten about us WHEN WE HAVE THE MOST POSTS IN THE TECH FORUM.

I would enjoy to actually play as MY CHARACTER rather then a clone of my character. They can easily take away the stats of my items and give me pvp stats, i dont care.

Story mode dungeons are for the 1%.....maybe 2%

Story modes are at the right difficulty, end of discussion.

I have completed all of the story modes, the only one that might be a bit too hard is Sorrows embrace (Kulus fire golem).

The issue is really a learn 2 play issue, the story dungeons are really easy. What problems were you wiping at???

I think the problem is your mindset, you are looking at a game thinking you can just run in and faceroll each group. Whatever happened to taking your time, making proper pulls, and working as a team? Next time when you go into a dungeon have a specific person pull, have your group coordinate, and play as a team. Guarantee you beat it flawlessly.

Basically this system is set up with a combo of WoW’s old school Dungeon Sets and their Raid tokens. I’m not saying that’s a bad thing, but I can see why others may be against such a system.

Need the chest? Run UBRS. Hat? Scholo. Etc, etc, etc…

I think Anet set up this system to make you work hard for something, so maybe you’ll feel a sense of accomplishment for completing a whole dungeon set. Just because others are abusing it by running the first 2 bosses in a dungeon because it’s faster than completing the whole thing shouldn’t impact your playing in any way, unless you play with them.

I like your idea because it’ll force people to stick it out until the end instead of simply abusing the system, but on the other hand it may not be the exact route to go. Of course, none of this matters because I doubt Anet would implement this.

I agree with you that Anet originally set up the dungeon system so people could feel a sense of accomplishment after completing a full dungeon set. What Anet did NOT know was that because of this decision it made the entire community only farm 2 dungeons and not even complete them. I believe anets intention was to have everybody run every single dungeon, they spent so much time on these extra dungeons yet NOBODY runs them. I think they need to find a better solution and give reasons to run the other dungeons.

Right now the community is:
1) farming the first 2 bosses of ARAH
2) running Citadel of Flames
3) People only using the Arah set or COF set (mostly COF like 5 to1)

With my suggestion people would be:
1) running all the dungeons
2) would be using all the armor skins
3) Yes you would lose the accomplishment of “mastering” a single dungeon with a dungeon set but instead you would get an accomplishment of “mastering” all the dungeons.

I think thats a greater sense of accomplishment, dont you??

I believe Anets intentions on explorable dungeons was to have all the players running every dungeon. Not all the players running 2 dungeons, I believe that is WAY more important then making sure set items are dungeons specific. If you have a better idea on how to spread out the community to do multiple dungeons, be my guess and come up with a suggestion.

No, i disagree with you adding more stats to dungeon gear. The main philosophy Anet had was no player should have better items then another player. This is FINE.

The issue is the way the token system is set up which i explained in my original post. People will run dungeons for cosmetic rewards this is a FACT, guild wars 1 is the perfect example. Anyways enough being off topic this has been discussed hundreds of times and will NOT change.

the answer is simple, if you read what i originally posted.
Completing catacombs would give you ORR BOOTS but you can ONLY get boots if you run catacombs.

If you want the sweet looking chest you need to run arah to get the ORR CHEST.

This allows you to show off your kitten and allow players who do not care “like myself” to beable to experience all the dungeons.

I do have to comment though on your suggestions for armor on each dungeon. I think it would work better like.

Ascalon – foot gear
Caudicus – glove gear
Twilight arbor- helm
Sorrows Embrace – leggings
CoF – Offhand weapon
COE – chest
WoH – shoulders
Arah – main hand weapon

They could make 2handed weapons require tokens from both the offhand and mainhand.

that pretty much covers all the armor/weapons that are already implemented in the game (there is no underwater dungeon headgear)

Honestly the suggestion was just 1 of a hundreds answers. The real problem is players are only running 2 dungeons. <THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED> Not everybody in my guild wants to run Wave of Honors because everybody hates the gear. Yes my guildies might run it once but there is no way in hell they would run it 20+ times with me to get the gear i want.

A problem doesnt exist!?!? How many times u found a pug for explorable COE ?? No ody runs any explorables other then cof or arah. What about woh?? I only did that with my guild but i would love to beable to pug it for some tokens

Because it’s silly beyond belief you have to grind each dungeon seperately and results in predictable results like some dungeons being done 100x as much as others. If I want TA gear and my friend wants CoH gear we shouldn’t have to each waste 50% of our time to play together. That sort of pointless grind is just the sort of thing GW2 advertised as doing away with.

No you run ascalon to purchase Orr boots, but if you want an Orr chest peice you would need to run Orr.

No way does it make it easier… If you want a full set of any gear you would need to run EVERY dungeon making it HARDER. Now you cant just farm the first 2 bosses of Orr to get your dungeon gear you actually will need to complete the entire dungeon. Also you would need to complete other difficult dungeons instead of facerolling the same 1 over and over again.

Oh i forgot farming the first 2 bosses of Orr is really hard for you….

So you want to exert minimal effort for extreme rewards? Sorry. GW2 is not for you.

Dungeon gear was not meant to be gained easily. Please return to a game that allows instant gratification and stop trying to petition for GW2 to become another WoW/Tera/Aeon.

Where did i say gear would be obtained easily, way to totally misread everything i wrote. The amount of tokens could still be exactly the same its just where you get them. Please go Troll another thread, or take another class in English.

heck if you read my post you would realize I was stating a way to make players play other dungeons. Nor did i mention anything about the grind or making it easier to get dungeon gear….

I want to discuss the real problem with Dungeons so far at level 80 from a player who just wants to beat them for FUN rather then grind bosses/paths for rewards.

1) its impossible to find a group for other explorable dungeons other then the ones for quick rewards)

Fix) Revamp tokens. Make a head,shoulder,leg,chest,glove,boot,offhand, and (main head/two hand) tokens for COMPLETING a dungeon. There is 8 dungeons and 8 pieces of gear, this requires players who want a full set to run every single dungeon. Allow these tokens to purchase ANY token gear, so people who want dungeon set A can play with players who want dungeon set B. This will spread out the amount of players who were originally playing the same dungeon.

EXAMPLE:

Ascalon – foot gear
Caudicus – glove gear
Twilight arbor- helm
Sorrows Embrace – leggings
CoF – Offhand weapon
COE – chest
WoH – shoulders

As a player who just wants to play the game for fun and experience all the dungeons like how you intended the game to be, its quite impossible. Nobody wants to do any of the explorable dungeons and you need to give insentives for that huge majority of players that “need” rewards. Unfortunetly players like me get shafted when we just want to try out the other dungeons.

New Skin Colors, Eye Colors, Faces, and Undergarments

I have a couple of suggestions for future Black Lion updates. Instead of Item skins, I would actually like to purchase more “permanent upgrades” on my character.

New skin colors- Maybe a deathly white (Sons of Svanir color) skin for norns, Blue fur for Charr, Pink Asuras.

New Eye colors- I WOULD REALLY LOVE A RED EYE COLOR!! maybe some pure white, orange, pink

New faces/ears/beards/haircuts

New undergarments – I ABSOLUTELY HATE the Norn undergarments, and would love to beable to change them.

I feel like this purchases would be more common because they can be used at any level (unlike skins which you replace when you gain more levels). Please Anet look into this, it could be a really good money maker!!!!
