The game can be either CPU or GPU limited. But this isn;t that. If it is normally fine then suddenly drops I would suspect a hardware throttling is kicking in to protect a chip from overheating.
You mention the card running at 55 but what is the CPU doing? Check the temp on that, also run something like CPU-Z and check the multipliers are staying up
It definitely is not a latency problem. That is all fine, could the gpu be bottlenecking the gpu? Thinking of getting a better heatsink and overclocking to 4.2
There is a big difference between lag and fps. Lag is cause by issues with your internet lagging simptoms are rubber banding and delay in skill casting. FPS is hardware issue related mostly from not installing the video card in the correct PCIe x16 slot or outdated wrong or corrupt drivers. Also system over heating can cause low fps and running to many apps and programs can cause it to. With this said are you lagging or you getting low fps
Fps drops to be exact, its in a 3.0 PCIex16 slot. The frames will just randomly drop and and stutter and then go back up. The frames could go from 100 down to 30.
I am lagging with a r9 295×2. Nothing is running hot, the card is running at 55c. I have a 4k monitor and regardless of the resolution I put it on I am experiencing lag( I tried turning it down thinking it would help); it is almost like a stutter, it will be running at 60 frames and just drop for no reason I could be just standing there. I This also happens regardless of it being on good, high or ultra. Nothing is overclocked. Any help would be great. The card has 8g memory on it.
I have:

I’m also on Verizon in the NYC area and am experiencing this issue.
Instead of setting up a VPN, try this workaround:
Edit C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts using notepad (run as administrator)
Add this line at the bottom:
174.35.56.164 assetcdn.101.arenanetworks.com
I’m on Verizon Fios in NYC area and having the same problem did this and it downloaded no problem. Thanks.
