A-Net still has to throw out some details but I also don’t think it will bring in the trinity to GW2. Simply because a taunt skill is not even 10% of what it needs to be a WoW, or Everquest II etc combat system. The trinity consist of 3 mayor elements. Threat generation is the maybe most important one and I cant imagine A-Net is going to change that. Massive need for full time healers is teh second thing and here again I doubt they will boost healing output so strong that its sufficient to counter heal 2-3 silver mobs attacking a “tank”. The 3rd thing thats needed is nto just 1 taunt. Its required in most oldschool MMO’s to have a single taunt and then a AOE taunt, and then maybe some other extra taunt mechanic. For me it really seems that A-Net is just bringing 1 little part of trinity into HoT to enable more complex boss mechanics, raid-like content, etc.
At least thats what I hope for
For instance I always liked the Age of Conan System, where everyone was contributing damage and taunt was not so reliable when asassins started bursting ^^
I believe that a taunt mechanic will make it much easier to create more complex PvE content and especially group based content. I dont like the silly, stuborn EQII, or WoW taunt system and I think thats not what s going to be implemented by A-Net. I really hope that they will develop their boss encounter to something like we see in Wildstar Dungeons and Raids because then I d have something to do in PvE. I ve been playing since release and the only mode that caught me really is WvW. I d love to see group content for up to 10/15 players where you sort of have a “soft” trinity.
So I hope A-Net doesn’t get scared of all the pessimism, because I think its a reasonable step forward and for some ppl everything that just smells similar to WoW is a no go… no matter if its maybe a good change. Thats a bad habit to be against everything just to be able to wine and kitten around :P

Q: Will we see more complex boss fights/mechanics? Best example when it comes to good boss/encounter design is for me Wildstar. Also Tequatl is imho a step into the right direction. I d also like to know if there will be any group content for 5+ – 10+ ppl? I don’t wanna name it “raids” in the classical sense but I think that comes close to the possible mode I mean
Thx AngryJoe
Your GW2 review at release was incredibly well done
Here is a build that can/should be played in medium sized zergs, or smal scale groups. This type of thief relies on his group, and uses venoms to negatively influence the enemies movement. He also deals a decent amount of damage if needed and has tons of ways to heal himself or get all buffs (lyssa runes). I ve experimented with this build for a few weeks now and so far I m very impressed how well it works. I wonder why i havent seen such thieves before in WvW
Tell me your thoughts and suggestions so I can try to improve the build further.

Hi folks
A thief can share his venoms with other players. Does he also share the strenght of the healing effect, or does the skill take the healing stat of the ally for the calculation?
When sharing the various venoms, do the daze debuffs stack, or overwrite each other?
Thanks for inc answers.
