Why so negative? At least they’re making the change. Plus I think the change is GENIUS.

Actually, I feel ANet has great concepts and ideas for all of their updates (Yes, even Lost Shores was a pretty good idea. I was interested!), and this one is no worse than the others.
I really like ANets idea of going unique. Rather than having some Norn with a deer as his spirit animal distribute toys or something, they went with something that wouldn’t have been my first guess for “Santa”, the asura!
Now in response to your “lore” criticisms, I don’t believe there is a real problem. If cubes hover, why not golems? Rata Sum is large, yet it hovers. Besides, even if the size proportionality is a bit off, it’s concept art. It can be changed.
An asura would be smart enough to give the kids what they wanted… Just like Santa doesn’t give a Nerf gun to a 3 year-old girl, Tixx will know how to adapt his gifts to the receiver.
Also, remember that asuras are geniuses, innovators, and creators. “Toys” in your eyes may seem pathetic, but a creative person, as I believe Tixx is, may seem toys as keys to our joy or perhaps the real answer to developing on a mental level, going back to our childhood roots, or something of that sort.
By the way, a human being “Santa”? A norn? Facepalm Those are sadly unoriginal and I truly believe ANet would not go for something as dull and plain as that.
Now give ANet a chance to amaze us, rather than criticizing everything about a new idea they have that they haven’t even released.

Currently, I still believe Guild Wars 2 has the potential to become the greatest MMO ever created because I see ArenaNet going in the right path. Fractals of the Mists has to be the greatest dungeon I have ever played because I have fun repeating it (which is quite hard to find in dungeons)! However, many of my friends do not see the game the same way I do, and I want to change that.
The reason my friends left was because they got bored of leveling (I know hard to believe, but they aren’t the best gamers in the world and get tired easy). They were tired of doing heart events to level up and even got tired of dynamic events that weren’t “exciting” enough. So I asked, “What’s exciting?” All of them told me large scale events that require teamwork to take down a massive enemy. They told me the only fun thing to them was meta events or WvW. I think this is the thing that ANet needs to put in. Raids. Now I understand something this big will take the time and GW2 is still a new game. I’m just hoping ANet will implement this feature soon because GW2 heavily encourages teamwork and raids will put it at a massive scale.
As for PvP, I believe that the game is quite balanced. In fact, I’m surprised that it is balanced considering it was just released a couple of months ago. I love everything about PvP, except that I don’t feel like there is competition for me. GW2 PvP just needs a little push, and I believe that ladders could make that push. Ladders always induce competition, and competition brings people. By having something similar to ranked queues in LoL, GW2 PvP could become much more popular. Once the people have come, GW2 could continue updating PvP by adding different modes for PvP (Capture the Flag, Destroy the Base, etc.).
All of it just takes time. Guild Wars 2 is still a relatively new game and ANet has the money and idea to make the game-breaking updates. They just need time.

I've enjoyed this game wholeheartedly

Personally, I still love and enjoy this game! In fact, I continue to play every chance I get! I love how past couple of updates were ambitious despite their bugs. Normally, games would just throw in a fair and some prizes, but GW2 made an entire adventure (Pursuing the Mad King and defeating him). As for the Lost Shores, there were many glitches and I couldn’t do the events; however, I took a look at what ANet did for thew update and I was happy. They added Fractals of the Mists, a dungeon that was meant to repeated and could tend to those that complained about no endgame and being bored all the time, but was not necessary for players to do if they don’t like to spend too many hours on the game. The Southsun Coves was not necessarily a bad feature. It shows that ANet is dedicated to making big changes to GW2 (Karka attacking Lion’s Arch and a new zone to explore).

Fractals of the Mists Saved PvE!

Personally, I LOVED the Fractals of the Mists and I think that ANet did a great job by adding this dungeon in. The fact that it randomizes the fractals every time you do them is interesting and allows for repeats without the dungeon getting boring extremely fast. They will also probably add more fractals to the dungeon so that it won’t get too boring after a long period of time. I expect that Fractals of the Mists will only get better over time as ANet continues to work hard on this game.
That brings me to my next point that GW2 is new and has only been released for about 2 or 3 months I believe. People have been comparing this game to WoW as long as I have heard of this game, especially in the raids category. I think that if ANet made raids, PvE would be MUCH more enjoyable because it allows for massive teamwork, which the GW2 combat system strongly encourages without “The Holy Trinity”(Revival, combos, etc.).

I feel that Guild Wars 2 has some fundamental flaws

Marvelously written and I do agree with many of the points that you brought to the table, but some I do not agree with (such as the dungeon part – I do find dungeons fun. They are not simply use all your skills and deal DPS, or heal, or tank, and many boss mechanics are quite interesting). I also want to point out that if ArenaNet added a ladder system, like the one in LoL, it would be much more popular and enjoyable despite the possibility that the community of sPvP could turn into a horrible one like the majority of the LoL community.

No ladder, no MM = people leaving the game

I agree that if GW2 had something similar to ranked queues in LoL, it would be much more popular. Unfortunately, I fear the catch that comes with this idea, which is that people will become ignorant and hateful much like 95% of the LoL community.
