Khalifa, wondering about your sigils and runes in the latest update. How come you dont have bloodlust on staff for swapping when stacking like before and instead put force on the offhand for 5% more damage?

As for the runes, why is this set-up with eagle better than for example thief or ogre set 6/6?

I believe they have nerfed the drop chance of these from chests atleast in JPs. 1 or 2 days ago id get them around 3/4 times, today ive done 5-6 and gotten a single one. Theres been some small updates so they might have snuck it in.

I recommend you read the thread next time renss, this is not about character names.
Also, to ANET; if you are worried people will use this to escape posting history or whatever, atleast give us the option for being able to do this one single time so for example people who didnt know what the role of the name would be during registration / beta phase of the game, also maybe restrict this for people who have been flagged for bad behaviour or whatever?

well i hope they add this function, what bothers me also is that every time i asked support since beta they always said they intend to have this feature and that the tools are just not quite “ready” yet, the faq said the same, now i dont even know what to believe. It feels like theyve been elusive.

Im not referring to the email adress / login but rather the one that shows as “name.xxxx”, here on the forum, aswell some instances ingame. Since beta ive asked the support and i always got the answer “the tools arent quite ready for this yet” and a general feel of that it will be soon. Now many months later theres no talk about it and when i ask the support they say they just dont know anymore or elude the answer.

It would really be nice since it feels annoying to me and surely some other that i cant have my representative nickname on the forums. Is it technically difficult to implement such a feature or whats the deal? Blizzard have the same system with name.xxxx and they let you change atleast once.

Thanks for the input, the 30/30/10 is something i had in mind aswell and im def considering it, i do already have a rampager set in bank so:) I also feel alot of things synergize well for necro as a hybrid (bleed on crit) lots of bleeds etc integrated in other things like mark, DS and such. Im actually spvping right this moment trying out the exact build you mentioned, so i guess iwasnt all far off.)

The thing is now with the wvw changes maybe i can farm a power set to try it out. As you say, condition feels very hit and miss. Versus roaming groups it can be great because of the lesser amount of removal. The only thing im afraid of is the eventual dps loss of a power vit tough build over cond prec tough. Also i see in your build you dont have the 20% less staff cd, dont you feel this is important when you use the staff as a main wep?

Hi, ive recently been coming back to the game and im now focusing alot on WvW. Ive started thinking lately, with epidemic now also having 5 maximum targets, and LoS required + all the condition cleansing im starting to worry if Rabid gear is the way to go?

I still assume that staff is a must for the big battles and wells i assume will be a good addition too. So the focus i guess will be around the staff weapon most likely.

My question remains then, with a focus on staff and wells, for big aoe wvw battles, which will come out on top of the gear combination?
Rabid gives you maximum condition damage, precision and toughness and you are quite tanky. No power damage and wells dont hit hard though. Also the problem arises of the massive condition cleansing going on in big fights.

Berserker gear would yield maximum attack damage but at the cost of any condition damage. Epidemic loses its strength dps-wise. Squishy also
Another choice would be soldiers gear possibly but lose out on alooot of damage.

Then there is hybrid or rampager. I get precision power AND condition damage making my bleeds hit good, lots of procs from precision and good power damage.

Any thoughts on larger scale wvw battling? Also wondering a bit about 2nd weapon set, scepter/dagger still seems to win out since axe and dagger only have single target dps.

Kinda hard for condition specs since there is no Cond/Vit/tough gear yet exept one ascended ring. Dont really imagine how its neccesary to have that much hp, toughness is still most important cos we already have quite a good base hp pool.

well first of all you werent at the cap with those, and secondly blood is power has a 30 sec duration meaning that youd need to try to get it above 60secs to prove that its not capped.

well it would matter in a dungeon group where there is few bleeds from others. You 100% about this? Since i saw a few posts mentioning such.

Hey, ive been reading at different places that there is a 100%+ bleed duration cap (and condition duration cap as i see it?) and that the 33% condition duration from scepters (lingering curse) trait ignores this cap? So is it correct that with hemophilia (20%bleed duration), and traiting in the first traitline (for 30% condition duration) + pizza =10% from the duration cap only?:I

Saw this in action and it looks solid. Would like to try it myself in a tough pve environment although im uncertain if i have the time to swap all my gear out;(
Wonder bout your utilities though, i assume you run a 2/3well spec because of the traits?

Hey, ive played necro since BWEs and in pve ive pretty much always run a condition build partly because i got the consensus that it was the most effective no doubt, aswell as i didnt wanna have to get new gear.

Now since ive played this for so long ive started to get curious if things have changed since way back. Say for fractals or any other hard PvE dungeon, is the ScepterDagger/Staff still the most effective combo?

Or can Axe or Dagger compete, maybe with a DS build and piercing shots? My thought was something like Marks generating life force, getting might stack and piercing shots on DS for example.

Also im wondering if the life leech traits + eventually the one for weapon do enough in a dungeon environment to help you survive?:) Thanks!

There was NOT a significant improvement to it, and one games proves nothing neither does being top of the board, but if you enjoy it, good.

Exotics: Cond/Prec/Pow vs Cond/Prec/Tough PvE

So ive been gone for a while and i got back recently, i collected some gold now and its time to upgrade to exotic… so, im focusing on PvE now although WvW is still relevant in the equation. Im only gonna afford one set so… Im a conditionmancer, standard scepter/dagger + staff. So its either the Cond/Prec/toughness from dung armor, khilbrons or karma vs Rampager gear with Cond/Prec/Power… so ima try list some pros and cons, and i hope i can get some feed back… what i mostly wanna know is if the Cond/Prec/Power is a good choice or not.

Pros and Cons of Rampagers set:
+Highest damage output (Even the power together with the crit will add a good dmg bonus to scepter, and esp staff)
+Makes Staff a much more effective swap since the marks scale well.
+Finally decent damage towards structures etc (good in some dungeons, great in WvW)
+ Death Shroud is alot more effective
+ Much cheaper set and easy to get cos of being craftable
+Higher direct damage helps getting good participation in world events or other situations when there already are 25 stacks of bleed.
+Better build variety, can switch to power builds and still be effective
-No defensive stats, squishyness? (How bad will it be in dungeons?) Although Necro do have DS mechanic and high health pool to counter this somewhat, also with the new coming ring with cond vit and tough maybe this can be countered somewhat

Pros and Cons of Cond/Prec/Tough
+Higher survivability from toughness
+Still has the two most important stats for condition necro
- Lower dmg output, esp from staff and esp towards structures etc
-Death shroud less effective
-Khilbrons is expensive, dungeons take time to farm and karma aswell.

What are your opinions?
