I have over 3K Fractal Tokens just sitting in my bags with nothing to spend them on. I already have a fully upgraded Capicitator and don’t really have much use for anything else.
Before I go blowing them on items I don’t really need, it’s to my understanding that more Fractals content will be released in the future (see: The Future of Items Progression). Should I be saving my tokens for that new content, or will they require a different type of tokens altogether?
Would be nice if I could spend them on a Fractal Weapon or something because as of now they’re just taking up a ridiculous amount of space in my inventory and I don’t have much interest to stockpile any more from grinding for said item.

Actually, only infused rings will drop in 26+, so you don’t have to worry about getting a non-infused version as a reward.
Alternatively, you can upgrade the non-infused ring you already have by taking 1 Shard of Crystallized Mists Essence, 3 Globs of Coagulated Mists Essence, and 5 Vials of Condensed Mists Essence and tossing them all into the Mystic Forge.
I agree. If they want to help lower-level fractal players to find parties, they should help specifically them and not throw everyone else in to carry their weight. I’d consider level 20+ to be higher level because that’s when Infusion rings start coming into play. So why not make it so that all the level 1-19 fractal players can join each others’ groups and help each other progress?
The last thing I need is a level 8 fractal player tagging along in my 36 group who starts dying repeatedly once we get to anything actually difficult. It’s true that you can do higher level dungeons with 0 AR, but then again, that’s not everyone and I’m sure the majority of players are not capable of this.
Have you checked the option pannel to see if the fast casting for aoe was ticked or not? I guess you did already but better to mention it just in case.
No, this option isn’t selected for me.
Update:
OK, sorry guys. I had trouble reproducing the issue, so I deleted the original post and didn’t know the thread would stay.
Anyways, I’ve done some tinkering around and found out EXACTLLYYYY what’s going on here.
Basically it seems that Chaos Storm casts automatically without giving you the option to select the area of effect while switching to Staff and hitting ‘5’ while forward-rolling. You can reproduce it simply by running (holding W), rolling to the left or right (double-tap A or D), and pressing tilde (~) to switch to Staff and pressing ‘5’ for Chaos Storm while still in mid-roll.
This happens during combat sometimes and is pretty annoying when Chaos Storm just casts in a random location.

Deleting local.dat isn’t working for me, either. Thought server was down at first, but I’m seeing regular updates on LFG site.
Update: Alright, did the unthinkable. I restarted the computer and I’m able to login again. Will be adding this to the bag of tricks.

I rarely did Group Events even within weeks of launch because I just didn’t have the patience to wait for others to come around and help. It was only when others were already there that I’d participate, and even then it wasn’t that often. Maybe they could add NPCs to help with events based on the amount of players in a given area. That doesn’t sound very “MMO,” but then again you can’t really expect the lower level areas to stay populated forever when the goal of every player is to reach maximum level.
The game is still very much an MMO by definition, regardless of how it should “feel” based on your opinion. If you don’t believe me then take a trip to WvW and see if there’s any “MMO” going on there.
“For great justice!” (over and over at the Trading Post)
It’s also odd that when my character gets hit or screams from being crippled that the voice sounds nothing like its voice from cutscenes or when it gets buffs.
*bump
I think the combat log could use an improvement as well. There are times where I get downed or killed, and nothing even shows in the combat log. I can understand not making things uber specific so the game doesn’t turn elitist, but if a player takes damage they should at least know what’s hitting them.
It would also help to know which abilities (ones that don’t do damage) your target is using to better understand what’s going on during a fight. Simply listing damage dealt and damage received and for how much experienced doesn’t answer many questions when you get rolled in PvP. I’d like to know if my opponent has casted a shield or quickness, so if I die, I can review what happened and better prepare myself for similar situations in the future.
There’s no way I’m going to level a character for each of the professions and learn all the skills, so the combat log is all I have when it comes to getting better at PvP.
Uh…You get both the Pristine Relic and the ring. I just did 28 yesterday and got a pristine relic, infuse lunaria, some normal relics, and a bag of coins.
Ahhh, so it’s in addition to the ring.
K thanks for clearing that up for me
It’s great and all that non-infused rings will no longer drop in Fractals higher than level 24. HOWEVER, we now have a chance to receive a Pristine Fractal Relic as a daily reward instead. Which basically means that we might only get 1/10th of a non-infused ring for running the higher levels instead of the Infused versions we’ve been grinding for.
Can you limit getting a Pristine Fractal Relic to levels 2-24 or perhaps make Infused rings purchasable as well, so the higher level players can receive their Agony Resistance? The way it’s setup now seems conflicting to the patch notes stating, “non-infused Ascended Rings will no longer drop after scale 24,” because a Pristine Fractal Relic is essentially one-tenth of a non-infused ring, and I just got one for running level 26

It gets pretty annoying when you’re dead, and after about 5 seconds the game takes control and starts panning your screen. Sometimes you just want to watch what’s going on while waiting for a rez (during a boss fight or while in WvW, for example), and this becomes a struggle when the camera keeps wanting to spin all the time. Plus, it starts to hurt my eyes and makes me dizzy after a while.
Maybe there should be a simple option to disable camera pan while dead?
4PM server, or 5PM in areas without DST I believe.
For example:
I have one of the Books with an infusion upgrade, and would like to later transfer it over to a Capacitor. Would I be able to use a Black Lion salvage kit and 100% guarantee that I’ll get the infusion upgrade back?
I’ve already checked transmutations and know that you can’t transfer it that way, but I’m hoping that you can at least salvage it back so it doesn’t just go to waste.
Can anyone clarify?
