GW2's Visually Unappealing Spells

With each new “tweak” to the over all flashiness of GW2’s spells, they get less and less impressive or enjoyable to watch.
Yes, yes I know that a majority of people are, apparently, turned off by flashy particle effects and shiny spells. And those pretty spells can obscure sight for people in big groups or squads. However, for someone like me, the dulled down visuals really takes away from my enjoyment of the game.
I would personally like to see Anet implement something that’s already been done in another MMO – Everquest 2. That is, a slider that can turn down the particle effects for you.
What would this do? Well, it would give players control over just how much flash and sparkle they want from the game’s spell effects AND it would keep other players, like me, who enjoy big explosions and bright lights happy because we could keep it cranked up at all times. Yes, the effects would always be client-side (i think that’s the right term?) and not effect the server.
On that note, I wish there was a more dedicated feedback forum or feedback button in the game. rubs chin Ah well.

Option to hide shoes!

It always struck me as odd that we as players do not have the ability to “hide” our feet armor, especially when we can hide our helmets and our gloves/gauntlets and our shoulder armor simply by checking off a little checkbox on our equipment page.

It also strikes me as odd that we’re unable to do this when you consider the Norn. By lore, don’t a lot of them go barefooted anyways? I play mostly Sylvari and Asura, but even playing those races I do sometimes want to hide my shoes, especially on my Sylvari ranger.

I’m not certain if this is an error or intentional, but it would appear that the Dragonhunter can not target or shoot enemies behind themselves. Usually, when you target an enemy behind you with a skill, your character will turn and attack. This is very good for someone who has limited use of their fingers, it keeps the game playable without adding necessary difficulty that makes the new mechanic otherwise unenjoyable.

The number 1 ability, “Puncture Shot” feels too slow.

Cast times for virtues sucks.

Not being able to target mobs behind you and attack sucks. Why can’t I use my numbers 3 through 5 abilities and let the attack auto-turn my character like all other targeting attacks in the game already do for the other classes?

Why do I have line of sight issues when the mob is right in front of my face, eating my face?

ALSO! Please add a stun breaker to one of the traps. A lot of the new abilities that came with the new specializations lack stun breakers. In fact, I can’t remember if any of the new abilities have stun breaks.

I don’t know about the rest of you, but I really enjoyed the recent HoT trailers. I enjoyed them so much, and I enjoy the Sylvari so much, that I decided to mash together some clips and use that one song everybody knows by now to make something creative!

Enjoy!
