Which bunker build, despite the class, isn’t too easy is the question… they all are!
Problem about the x/x/x/(20)30/(20)30 build is that nothing else makes sense!
Any thief that figures their build/burst combo can kill you almost in an instant, even with 30 points in water and soldiers amulet + earth’s embrace/final shielding.
You need 2,3 ppl to kill a good bunker in a reasonable timeframe if you don’t bring a thief…
I don’t know the solution, it needs to be figured step by step, but the problem obviously lies in both extremes (burst/bunker) that puts people in a corner of pretty limited choices.

Ok, why is the majority here talking about bunker D/D while bunker S/D is the real issue?
The only reason a good ele would chose D/D is aura share, but in terms of tankability the choice is clearly S/D and I’ve never seen a D/D ele approach our home point to keep it neutral in the starting phase of a paid, NEVER! (since S/D bunker is FOTM that is)
And just out of curiosity, what’s your main class nerva? No offense here, but you clearly have an issue with alot of speccs and classes, i’d like to know out of which perspective you’re speaking.
Generally i think most of us should try to look at the bigger picture and try to point out the reasons behind ppl’s build and team setup choices instead of raging about the current, most obvious result of it.

All this game needs are bug fixes and the tools to improve the pvp area as a whole like matchmaking, rankings, seperated solo/grp queues and so on.
Most of you guys still talk about balance in a 1v1 mindset, but it just doesn’t work that way. If you like it or not, it’s a 5v5 conquest mode, real balance is alot more complicated around it than the majority makes it to be.
About you suggestions:
1. Bad idea: Your approach to cap dmg around toughness itself is off. Base armor is different between armor classes, heavy needs less-, light needs more to reach the same amount of armor, which is the variable to calculate the dmg output (not toughness). Also, if you just cap dmg like that, the % health taken will be different based on the professions base hp pool. Generally capping dmg without the consideration of attributes, skill dmg coefficient and traits just makes tons of builds obsolet, hence limiting build diversity.
2. Stealth uptime itself doesn’t do dmg, nor makes you invulnerable. Only thing to think about is Shadow’s Rejuvenation and Patience and Fleet Shadow in terms of balance around stealth duration. If Revealed is working as intended and isn’t manageable to be bugged out, you could think about an increased cd of re-stealthing. The problem with thief in my opinion are some mechanical issues that makes a huge dmg output just to easy to be executed, aka heartseeker auto leap/hit. I also think that Mug does to much dmg for just an adept trait. But i am not a master thief, there are alot of good suggestions in other threads.
3. First of all, shatter needs to be fixed! I also disagree with the might stack buff to an already very strong and popular build. I don’t know if after fixing that, nerfing the build alone to make other builds more appealing is the solution. My problem with Mesmers is the all around strength of skills, they can basically do “everything” but also things that other professions can’t! Portal is the main issue here and needs to be worked on further.
4. Again, i don’t think that nerfing one part to make the other more appealing is the way to go. Yes, d/d is strong in the right hands, it always was! What makes it more noticeable is that you don’t heavily rely on your team to utilize it’s strengths, which makes scepter/staff look less strong in a non organised scenario. Boon duration already got nerfed across the board through runes, ea/shocking aura got nerfed/fixed, healing ripple got nerfed, if you can’t kill a tanky ele, he can’t kill you either. Bunker builds in general are a different story and a subject on its own which lead me to..
5. In my opinion bunker builds effectiveness is just to easy to be executed, mistakes should be punished! Right now bunker builds just give you more and more room for mistakes, the reason why it’s so popular. I think both sides, burst and bunker need to be adjusted to promote a more balanced and skill based build diversity.
6. How Team DM will improve tpvp is out of my imagination, pls explain! =P

On a serious note:
First of all, what makes all of you “top players” think that your say has more value than others? Most of you measure their “proness” with the amount of QP’s on a forum post which you guys, and be honest, “grind out”!
Without matchmaking and a proper ranklist, QP’s are just a poor indicator for real skill and being on “top”…i am tired of it!
Yes, it still tells that you and your team are capable of getting a tournament rank that rewards QP’s, but please…the game is still in it’s baby shoes, so stop embarrassing yourself claiming to be top EU and so on, it’s really a joke.
I am also tired of the negative atmosphere within the community lately, all i see is whine and blame, less and less respect between people and also towards Anet. You don’t realize that you are destroying the very base of what you might actually want to protect, the community and the attraction to the game for new players, so you can shine in a populated PvP environment!
I am also dissapointed that the tools for being an esport aren’t there already, but i am also mature enough to understand that things don’t happen overnight.
It was us, the community itself, who totally hyped the game to be an esport title right from the get go.
Now, it’s also a big part of the community that is working against the devs, creating a huge influx of negativity in forums, fueled by the very dissapointment that things don’t fit their own hyped illusion. If you don’t like it, just quit and come back when it fits your desires, easy!
You complain about a stall meta, you complain about bugs and exploits, but isn’t it exactly you, the “top x” players who love to use what makes you win more easy? QQ blockbug, let’s run 2 or more guardians, QQ gate porting…, but everyone can, so everyone does, soo let’s do it, we want to be “top x”!
Don’t take it personal, i am just speaking by my experience without calling names, but i think you get my point.
Now in fact we are restricted to our pre chosen wpn sets/traits/amulets/utilities and again all i can see is a massive whine from self claimed “pro’s” that, obviously knew best how to use it to their own advantage. It takes skill to drag your mouse and double click, seriously?!
This change doesn’t only encourage more precise build crafting, it also encourages more deep teamplay and carefull profession choices, while helping new players to get into the game a little bit easier. I welcome it and i think it’s a step in the right direction!
