Gem Store gathering tools to every character

I still get the point that they’re making more money this way, but it seems like this has just been forgotten/not thought of when the unlimited tools were implemented.

If you buy a pair of wings or a glider skin, you are able to put them to every single character you have and create in the future. And skins in general only cost 700 gems, so why would they keep such a good sharing system from account bound gathering tools that cost even more gems. Also, I do not think the crew of ArenaNet is choosing the profit of microtransactions over good player experience. This could be expected from several other, unnamed companies, not ANet.

And as wongdong stated, if the tools get lost in the process of deleting the character, it costs the company way more to even open the CS ticket and send out a reply (+ the recovery of these items) than what they earn for selling these tools.

[EU] Shades of Ethereal - All-in-one Guild

Shades of Ethereal is looking for players to get everything running!

Our guild has been formed approximately three years ago, starting off as a mere group of friends to share some additional bank space and gather up to do some activities around the game. We’ve set our camp on the realm of Gandara, and you may state us as a new guild (level 2).

To this day, the guild’s state has remained that way. But that subject is about to be changed, as we are looking for players across Europe to fill our roster and have a good time playing and chatting.

What we do?

Our group activities have no limits. We take in players no matter their interest in the type of content. PvE, PvP, WvW… we’re here to welcome all of you!

For more organized activities we group up by forming teams to do some Fractals or daily WvW runs, what ever we can gather up for. It is your choice to take a step on to which-ever direction you feel comfortable about.

We’re a social, helpful and humorous group of players who enjoy the game as much as you do, so sneak me up on the game and get an invite, or leave your character’s name below and I’ll contact you when I see you in game!

In addition…

We are looking for moderators who are determined to lead this guild through every obstacle dropping in our way. What we need in this case, are players who reckon what goes over when the members socialize. A Person who promotes the guild in game and gathers more people to experience this adventure with us.

As a leader of this Legion, I invite you all to step out from the crowd and raise your hand if your interest has awakened.

If you have account bound inventory slots you can put the gem store tools in there

That is true, but those slots are not cheap. Surely this is a working plot at the moment if you think it from the marketing side, but I am driving the customer’s side here. Spending real money to the game items should always mean that those items are easy to use on every single character, when it comes to an MMO game.

Elementalist elite spec idea: Dervish

As much as I’d love to see the Dervish return, I do not think it is a right specialty to Elementalist. At this point it feels more suitable for Guardian, since they have the bit of endurance we’ve seen Dervishes had back on the first Guild Wars, and the supportive aspect also suites better.

The fact that the Elementalist already has a Tempest as his/her specialty, which pretty much focuses on healing and supporting team-mates, it already drives it off from the typical Elementalist spectrum. Of course, in Guild Wars 2 each an every class has to be able to handle every three corners of the triangle (dps, tank and support), so that kind of covers it.

I’d be more happy to see Elementalist turned into a glass-cannon with something like, let’s call it Sorceress/Sorcerer, or a Shaman (the elemental side of the supportive Druid). This is of course, if we’ll ever see the second specialty for the current classes, which I hope we do at some point!

I spent my hard earned cash just week ago to get myself something that really buffs up my gameplay and gets me to finally level up those crafting professions I’ve had for over three years just holding on in case I ever wandered back.

So I bought a set of these Halloween themed infinite tools from Gem Store for a thousand (1000) gems each, just to notice that I have to actually transfer the tools to another character if I were to play with some of my alts.

This seems rather weird, taking to count that these tools are in fact account bound and they are surely not meant to be bought for each character individually. And as we’ve experienced before, items can be delivered universally to all of our characters (Hero’s Band for example, if you’ve got the Deluxe edition of the original game).

What I am proposing here is that the tools should be available for every character individually, with no need to end the game session near bank where you put the tools in to pick them up again with another one of your characters. In my opinion the cleanest way to achieve this would be to bind these items to the Hero Panel, under the Equipment tab, so when I click on a mining pick, I would have the unlimited tool I’ve bought, ready to be used.

Wouldn’t you prefer this instead of transferring your tools all around and at some point possibly just ending up using the “normal tools” because it is just easier at the moment? In my opinion, it would be a great improvement to bring these up to all of our characters instead of just one.

Boost to 80?

I don’t think this would bring any good to the game… If someone is willing to experience their characters at full level, there’s always a PvP-mode which boosts you up to that and unlocks almost everything for you to try and experiment on.

Getting a level 80-boost, especially for new players can be very confusing and it kind of gets off the interest from MMORPGs… Leveling is the thing that must be done in order to climb up to the end-game content. MMO shouldn’t be offering any kind of shortcuts to anywhere in my opinion.

Native 64-bit game client for this release?

I’m really hoping for a 64bit release… My PC’s fans are spinning like crazy cats after a bag of peppermints.

Graphics card is okay, it doesn’t heat much and doesn’t keep any noise what so ever, but the other fans around the case are just screaming for the game session to stop. Anything doesn’t heat more than in kittenual gaming session along with any other game, but the fans are cooling, why in earth is this? – I can’t say, but it’s annoying and a bit concerning.

Are you going to buy HoT?

Totally going for it!

Unfortunately my character slots are all in use, so in best cases ANet will increase the available character slots by one for free along with the expansion, or I’ll have to buy it for 10 bucks.

Just to get out there and test the new class they’re bringing out.

However, I wont be playing with the Revenant for a long while after the launch of HoT. For I don’t wish to get in to unbalancing the classes available, not even for a moment. Had enough of this madness on World of Warcraft with each expansion that added a new race or when Death Knights were added… Good luck trying to play nice and smooth inside of chaos.

Anyways, I’ll be looking towards to this expansion!

in terms of open world pve, can’t go wrong with bear bow. Just trait into spirits, full berserk gear, longbow, bear and river drake, and you can go cruising round the world in ez mode.

Could you post any link to this build?

I reckon it a bit easier to assing and try this one out if I can just look from a ready-made template.

Sounds good to be honest, and there are no real “requirements” to concern more than a while or two.

I deleted my ranger a while ago (to roll a thief). You can take up to date builds from websites like metabattle and intothemists. You just tweak some things for the situation or playstyle. Also i think LB is better than SB in pve.

Thanks for a quick response!

I’ll look on to those websites and seek for something nice myself, if nobody posts any specific suggestions to this thread.

My playstyle is a big question mark for me, but of course when I’m trying to multi-task with PC and two other devices along the play, I prefer the stuff that is easy to use and therefor skills with manual targeting are just bad in my opinion. (And I’ve got enough of this with my Necromancer already)

I’ll try the Longbow then, who else shares Cryptic’s opinion on this?

I’ve been off from Guild Wars 2 for about two years, and I logged on to my level 80 Ranger, which just seems like it requires some further advances in order to grind and complete with ease.

By the moment I’m using Short Bow, any recommendations on weapon swapping?

I am also running on a really random build set, so all kind of build suggestions are welcome, I’ll be more than happy to inspect all PvE setups and give some feedback from them too!

Along the build comes the corresponding gear, which I’m sure I don’t have at my possession, but what pieces should I go for and where / how do I acquire them?

Any help with rebuilding my good ol’ Ranger will be blessed and you’ll have my thanks for putting your reply to this, greets!
