In the build that Norjena linked, Transfusion was included so I may give that a shot tonight. I like the idea that I can heal with DS and I may try using Blood Well just for kicks if I have the added survivability of DS.

Also @Krude, I did have to craft the set, but I had a TON of mats from when I thought I wanted a legendary, so it was relatively cheap for me. I’d recommend running dungeons to see if you can get some cash, otherwise the mats are pretty cheap as it’s not a popular set by any means.

Does Life Transfer damage scale with Healing Power as well? I hadn’t considered that in the original build.

Honestly the only reason I hadn’t run melandru is because it was a bit expensive, though I see the obvious benefit of running them in Zerg.

Also I can see the advantage of running zerker trinkets as well, but initially I was coming off of a more survivable build and hadn’t elected to change them yet.

Running Blood Well could be some solid support if I was hugging the backline and avoiding any kind of fights, but sacrificing my healing utility so I can drop the well into the zerg is really too risky. Not to mention, if I drop consume conditions I sacrifice my condi clear.

Norjena, I will try that build out tonight after I run some dungeons and grab those melandru runes/zerk trinkets.

Siphon builds may suck, and in truth a straight power well build could be more effective in a zerg. However, I justify a more “selfish” build with something like siphon as a more effective way for me to stay alive and help out longer. I’ve run full power builds and the my survivability to too low for me to provide assistance as much as I’d like. A dead necro is less helpful than any build someone could offer me. This probably has a lot to do with my play style and my skill, but regardless, a less squishy build ensures that I, personally, am able to stay alive longer and help out more.

Hey guys, first time posting.

I’ve been perusing various build sites as well as the forums for a power well build that could dish it out and maintain some survivability since the 4/15 patch.

I was pretty happy with Ascii’s build, but I wanted some more sustain. I heard somewhere that siphon scales with power and healing, and thought I’d give Zealot’s gear a try. The P/P/H on the gear, really helps make this an effective build.

I’ve been running it for a few days and even with a half-decent commander, I fill my bags pretty quickly and it’s really tough to bring me down.

The Build

Use

Spectral Wall is situational, but it’s incredibly effective at throwing a wrench into a zerg’s melee train. Typically I drop Spectral Wall pretty quickly and lay down my marks for the melee train. It’s also a nice source of damage and tags because of the Terror trait. If we’re getting cc’d a lot, I run Well of Power for the stab and stun break, especially if the commander is calling for it frequently during fights.

I place wells depending on how concentrated the melee or backline is during a zerg collision. Melee is always a good bet, especially if you decide to run Well of Darkness over Well of Corruption. Alternatively, if you have a lot of CC and boon strip, or if the commander calls for it, I drop Well of Power or Spectral Wall on the melee train and Plauge into the zerg mashing the 2 for blind.

Deathshroud into Doom and Tainted Shackles is always good at scattering a backline, finishing the rotation with Life Transfer to lay some damage and get some sustain in the fight.

Typically I only switch to Dagger/Focus when we’re clearing downs during the fight, if my marks and wells are on CD, to chase or 1v1, or if I really need the health from Life Siphon.

I have thought about running Blood Well, but it’s exceedingly unlikely that you will fair well standing in it and the codi-clear from Consume Conditions is essential to staying alive.

Practicality

I haven’t theory crafted as much with this build, but the results have been surprisingly effective. The sustain is phenomenal and the bags are outrageous.

Please let me know what you think of the build, I’d love some feedback.

Notes

Including the precision stacks in the builder is more accurate to how this plays as stacks show up almost instantly in a zerg and stay for a long, long time.
