Who the hell crafts items that cost 250 of high end material? I’m talking about those exotics with fixed stats and look from mystic forge (for example Emerald Pedant – 250 emerald orbs or Abyssal Scepter – 250 ectos). You can have similar items for 2-5 gold from trading post.

Will LS ever be about GW lore or Tyria?

Agree. It feels very random indeed. I mentioned it in “quantity over quality” thread.
In my opinion the TRUE storytelling via personal storyline would be much better.
You can realize the “living world” idea by upgrading and filling existing areas or permanently adding new zones (zephyr sanctum, good bye** ). The whole living world content looks like a waste of work and resources, like a cheap filler to attract gamers, but it can’t go forever the way it goes now, you will just burn out dear arena net.

In my opinion the whole living story content feels very… random. As a player who came back to gw2 after a long time (missed the whole living story content) i find it very messy and completely non-solid. It’s like “ok guys, we have some unused assets, lets put them together and attach some random story to it”.

Updates that add permanent new areas would be much better. For example bazaar of the four winds. Making this wonderful area avilable for a short period of time feels like a big waste.

Also, in terms of storytelling, why not extend personal storyline and let everyone expirience it in their own speed? MMO game needs more reliable and long-term content. If we want the true storytelling do in a pure way. Personal sotryline is the thing that distinguishes gw2 from other mmo games, let it shine than! :P

Wow, thanks for really informative answers!

Two buddies of mine have third generation i3 and i5 mobile processors with Intel HD 4000. They play at medium with good frame rates.

Core i3 with HD4000 integrated? These are minimum requirements. My PC also meets minimum requirements (core 2 duo, nvidia GTS450, 2GB ram) but GW2 runs just terribly (35fps max, 15-20 lion’s arch, unplayable in WvW and bigger events).

You know, i do not have high expectations. Other games I want to play are dota2 and diablo3. Maybe, for example, an ultrabook with core i3 and 4-6gb of ram would be enough to run smoothly on low?

My next question is if it is possible to play games on these laptops on external monitors? I have fullHD monitor from my PC. Do you think amd hd7670 is able to run games in this resolution?

Thanks for the answer. So in general intel/nvidia combo is better than intel/amd hd? I think I can’t go higher than nvidia gt630m which is slightly worse than 7670m (notebookcheck.com), so amd graphics card seems to be just a better choice.
P.S. How is your APU doing in other games? I was wondering if amd A6 could be an option for gaming.

Hi,
Do you think this latpop will run GW2 smoothly in pvp/wvw/pve events (low details are ok, I just want the game to be playable)?
SAMSUNG 350V5C i5 3210m , 4gb ram, amd hd 7670m 2gb.
Maybe nvidia graphics card would be better?
Have you heard opinions about gw2 on laptops or maybe are you playing the game on similar configuration? Thanks for answers!

Berserker vs. Rampager (staff + shattering)

@Alchemist I lost the thread a bit. We are talking here mainly about pve (dungeons), aren’t we? Mobs usually do not realise that they have some conditions on. Although, in sPvP, power/precision/crit damage are best indeed. You are right.

Rampager armor and staff + Berserker jewerly and sword/pistol as an ultimate answer?

I think rampager seems to be more interesting (which does not mean more powerful), with some condition damage you can play around with condition+shattering builds simultaneously not loosing that much power (hey, it is still there, on all items :P ). Berserker is fairly simple choice but it just eliminates some opportunities.

Ok, but while using absolutely non-condition items i feel that so many conditions form staff and clones are ‘wasted’ and could actually deal more damage if there were some condition damage on items

Hello,
i can’t decide which item set to use. The problem is I really like to use staff and as we now it is factory of conditions, but my build is based on illusion shattering (my main source of illusions is trait that creates clone on dodge).

Is it worth to invest in rampager which gives precision, power AND condition damage that benefits staff skills and confusion from F2 shatter
OR
choose berserker gear which gives actually pure power that directly supports shattering, damage done by staff illusion and sword/pistol skills (i use sword only when my staff skills are on cd).

I notice that more precision can compensate a lack of power so the question is if condition damage equals crit damage while using staff and illusion shattering… ?

I can’t understand why they used old GW1 engine for game launched in 2012 that is supposed to be played for years. One day the technology just will be too old. Ok, thanks guys for the answers. I expected something like “lol, just upgrade your kitteny pc”
@kirito The topic you linked answers almost every question, I just didn’t find that.

Hello,
I have desktop PC; Core 2 Duo 2x 2.33 GHz, 2gb RAM, Geforce GTS450 1gb and WinXP.
I know it is not much, but i can run many games very well (can run WoW on high or Witcher 2 on medium smooth). GW2 spvp, wvw, large events are literally non playable for me. I’ve seen ppl playing this game on laptops with better fps.
The main problem are huge fps drops; from 30-35 while questing, 15-20 in Lion’s Arch and sPvP to 5 fps in WvW and 15<; ppl events (mainly event chains in orr or dragon fights). And yes, this game maybe is cpu bound, but i dont think that desktop intel core 2 duo is so bad. Where is the problem?

nvidia GTS 450, intel core 2 duo, 2 gb ram here – I know these are low specs, but
i have average 25-30 fps (exploring, spvp) and average 5 fps ( :D yes, FIVE FPS) in WvW battles and events with more than ~20 ppl (dragon fights and assaults in orr).

I know my graphic card very well and I can literally hear if it works hard or not. It is completly quiet and cold while running GW2 O_o. When I run any other game it is usually noisy and hot, but fps is ok.
It seems like GW2 is not able to use power of graphic cards, including mine.
