Whatever the case, I believe the goal of the title should be to promote legitimate WvW play rather than zerg vs zerg killfest.
It’s World v World. That implies a lot of people. Sure you can break off and go exploring, but remember the old rule from pen and paper RPG’s “don’t break up the party”.
It’s like the old argument about PvP in World of Warcraft. I always came back with “We’re called the Horde and the Alliance for a reason.” It’s not Bob and the Boys.
I’d totally join up if there was a faction called Dirty Mike and the boys..
I have to say, if ANet does ban people for this, I will be very disappointed. It’s not greifing, it;s not an exploit and it’s not cheating.
I’m interested in how you think building multiple flame rams in locations where they can not actually attack anything is anything but griefing. Don’t say the person doesn’t know how to play or how they work, plenty of people have told him.
He griefed Borlis Pass for weeks, now he’s in Ebay doing the same. He even publicly admits that he is intentionally burning supply.

This game has no snare.
It was blatantly obvious my meaning. I’m not getting into a semantics debate over the internet.
Wasn’t obvious to me, seeing as you call Rangers “hunters”, I just assumed you were an idiot. My first post was telling you you were using the wrong term, and you took that to mean that I didn’t know what Barrage did. So I broke it down for you. Sorry that you learned something today.

You keep saying Barrage snares, it doesn’t do that. It cripples, which is just a 50% movement speed for a whopping ONE second that is very easily rolled out of. A snare would be an immobilization or a pull, which it is neither.
Sigh… this is what I’m talking about. People haven’t a clue what kind of AE’s exist in this game or what they do.
A snare is a movement impairing effect. In this case, a 50% movement impairing effect which lasts one second. HOWEVER, that is 1 second per second which means so long as you’re under it, you’re snared. .
Oh I know what it does, all ~500 hours I’ve spent on GW2 has been as Ranger. I’ll point to a patch note to prove my point.
Risen Putrifiers will no longer immobilize themselves when attempting to snare players with their anchor.
Snaring is referring to immobilization, cripple does not immobilize. Which is why it’s not a snare. Another example can be seen in League of Legends with Ryze. His Rune Prison is a snare, it stops them from moving. If they we’re simply slowed (as with Barrage, called Crippled in this game) they are not immobile, only slowed.
That being said I don’t think the AoE cap should go away either.

Anvil’s Last Stand apparently has nothing better to do then chase people down half across their BL to stop them from doing JPs.
You listed the exact 4 i’d love to play. However, I am almost positive Tengu are the most likely. They have their Dominion of the Winds currently blocked to players, and they have their 4 houses for personal story variations.
Hi, I’m a 80 Ranger who wanted to roll a Mesmerer alt so to be actually useful in dungeons. However, I am finding I have a hard time surviving compared to the way I played my ranger (glass cannon with my buddy polar bear). I’m only lvl 19 right now but I’m having a pretty rough time so far, to the point that I might be downed by only 2 mobs if unlucky.
I know that Mesmerer is a very complex class compared to Ranger, so I am here looking for some help surviving PvE. I’ve been putting everything gear and stat-wise into toughness to try to give myself a better chance. I’m running GS/Sword-Torch right now, but I realize I’m probably doing it wrong.
I’ve been using the first heal because I died my fair share of times with the meditate one. I have decoy and mirror image on utilities. I had pain inverter, but found it wasn’t saving my life so I switched it out.
I would apperciate any help, tips, strats, and builds to help me stay alive in PvE (I’m almost always leveling solo).
The GW1 descriptions of the krait said they were evil and bloodthirsty:
“the Krait rival even the Charr for viciousness and cruel ingenuity. These semi-intelligent creatures are vicious and xenophobic, attacking all other species on sight.”They no longer shape-shift, but this is hardly the only change we have seen in races in Tyria over time. Charr, Tengu and Grawl could not, apparently, make human speech in Prophecies. The Jotun were mostly mesmers with a few warriors. Griffons used to wield smites and symbols, the precursors to meditations and symbols, but do not anymore.
Charr and Tengu were shown speaking in EotN and Factions respectively, so we can safely assume that they were capable of speech even during Prophecies, but that they just never bothered to say anything to their enemies.
The Grawl in GW2 bug me a lot actually. Even back in EotN, the Grawl were portrayed as being only semi-intelligent, barely capable of forming the basics of society. (There was one quest in EotN where a Charr is attempting to talk to a Grawl, and after a long, one-sided exchange, the Grawl’s only response is “Ook!”) Their intelligence seems to have advanced remarkably fast in 250 years, to the point of being able to speak at literacy levels rivalling humans and other races, and of grasping much larger concepts such as farming and ranching.
Likewise, the Krait also seem to have advanced remarkably fast from EotN to GW2. They were never shown as having any kind of permanent settlement or semblance of society in GW1, and never used anything apart from their own claws, teeth and magical abilities to hunt, yet in GW2 they apparently have developed weaponry, metallurgy (as shown by the cages they use to hold slaves), engineering (krait harpoon cannons), and have a hierarchical social structure and a species-wide organised religion led by the Witches. I’ll grant that the former two could have been stolen from the other races, but the latter two developments would take a lot longer than 250 years to set up.
In contrast, the Naga from Cantha are shown wielding weapons and wearing clothing, so obviously they do have some kind of pre-existing society and technological development.
You realize that in a span of just 66 years we went from the Wright Bros first sucessful airplane flight lasting only seconds to going into outer space and landing on the moon, right?

As am I. I was filling out a map and when I reloaded everything was undiscovered again.

Awesome. Thanks for letting us know!
Can you let me know what is going on with my account? I was told that I was banned in error and my account restored, but I still can’t log in.

Ok so finally I got a reply today:
Hi,
After reviewing the issue, it appears that your account was blocked in error. Your account is now released and you should be able to log in to Guild Wars 2. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
Please let us know if we can help you with anything else.
Sounds great right? Well it would be if they actually reactivated my account! I’m still banned!

It’s been 5 days now since I was banned for botting when I’ve never done any such thing. No response from support yet, this is very poor business practice. I pre-ordered the game to show my support and in return I’m met with silence when wrongfully banned. I’ve supported the game by buying gems with real money as well, so I deserve better customer care then what I am receiving. Please make this right.
Incident 121031-003172
It’s been 3 days now since I was banned for botting when no such activity took place. I had a support ticket in because I couldn’t purchase gems on the store until I confirmed my identity (you guys responded quickly to that one), when someone said they disabled the buying restriction on my account for 2 days, I go to log in and it tells me my account is terminated because of botting, etc etc. Well I’ve never done any such thing (christ, my highest character is under 50 and has less then 2 gold, if I was botting wouldn’t I have a little better stuff)? It’s been over 3 days now and I haven’t heard back from support.
This is ridicilous, I paid for this game (I pre-ordered the digital deluxe version from your site, so basically I gave you a 90 dollar interest free loan!), did nothing wrong, so I should be allowed it play it!
