Guild Wars 2

When im rolling solo, I run minions, and will continue to run them in PoF. You are right in the aspect that they arent useful for group content… but it’s nice to have options for group, pvp, and solo content imo.

I dont think so since the current build will still be great for PvE content (with whatever changes come with the core update). What I will be doing is keep my Vipers, then grab some zerker exotics for testing the new elite in PvE and WvW.

That’s true, I didnt think of them just adding the Elite Spec instead of a whole new class. I think those are great ideas.

Maybe one day ill get my dervish XD

Have you seen the new Mesmer Elite? That may be as close as you get.

I have seen it, and im stoked for sure. I main necro, and i am happy to see what they do with the scourge.

This said, I didnt really see a similarity between the new mesmer(mirage) and the dervish. Maybe i missed something. I feel like Scourge/ele sword was closer, but I’m not sure.

Hey all, this is just a discussion on the Dervish class, and how it Could be implemented into GW2.

So I played a lot of GW1 back in the day, and Nightfall was my favorite expansion since I have always loved the Northern Africa/South West Asia themes, and Dervish was my favorite GW1 class. I was so excited (Still am) to return to Elona, and enjoy this new content, but I would be lying if i said i wasnt secretly hoping that when/if we went back to Elona, I could go as a Dervish.

Based on the fact that the Rev was introduced for the last expansion, I was a little hopeful for this to happen with the Dervish, and maybe it still will during a Living Story event or something.

I would like to hear your ideas on implementation of this class and how they could update it for GW2.

Since we dont have the scythe in the game, i thought maybe if they had a scythe skin (like they already have) and have the Dervish use the staff like the DD or Rev, with some scourge type skills, or the earth magic like ele has. I dont know, I think it would be nice to have, but im sure you all have better ideas than I do.

I appreciate the comments. I have a lvl 80 warrior, guardian, and Mesmer. In gw1 my main was a assassin and I really enjoyed it a lot. I rolled a thief a week ago and so far at 62, I really enjoy it. My warrior is great at CoF speed runs, fractals, and general Pve. And my guardian I use for dungeons as a pure support build. I made a thief because I was getting owned in WvW, and I wanted to play that style again. These comments help me orient my self to this style again and realistic ideas of how this class is played. I hope that thief (gw1 assassin) will be my main once again. Thank you.

In most games, i play the assassin/thief class, and i hate the warrior.. but ive taken to the warrior in GW2, i have a lvl 80 warrior and lvl 80 guardian. i have my guardian speced for support hammer, and my warrior balanced 20/20/10/20/0, with power prec and tough armor. i can stay alive and still knock out 34k+ HB. its all on play style, i like the mobility and feel of warrior instead of thief or guardian…. ive tried tanking spec with warrior (wanted to use the hammer badly with warrior) and guardian.. but guardian was better at support “tank” imo because of how i play.. ive seen an ele “tank”; just pick a class that fits you class doesn’t matter as much as it does in most games. which is nice imo. At the end of the day, no matter what class your are, with out dodging and using your class utilities properly, you will die… a lot.

I have an idea.. when your “LFG” just add “No Exploits” to your chat, that way you don’t have to deal with those that use these harmless shortcuts, and we don’t have to play with you!

I agree, I wanted to get the Arah armor on my warrior, and finding a group seemed hard before fractals, because of the bugs, i also did CoF a couple times a night because i was getting the armor for another character, plus it was an easy way to get gold… now the only thing people want to do, is fractals. dont get me wrong, fractals are fun, but it shouldnt have made it my only option for dungeons…
