I’ve been having the same problem almost a year now. You will see in the event viewer and system that amd / nvidia has stopped working and recovered successfully. Tried also all the solutions they mention in google but nothing changed. I believe is the driver of graphics card and it’s completely random. I mean others say they installed a previous more stable driver and that fixed their problem but others say another driver. I have Gigabyte Motherboard X99-UD4P (?99/2011-3/DDR4) and 16gb ddr4 ram and Sapphire R9 270 2GB BST OC D-X. Cpu is Intel CPU Core i7 5820K 3.3/15mb cache..so it’s a pretty strong machine. Maybe i will buy a new card at some point or amd indeed will create a stable driver.

I was actually watching the event viewer and it wasn’t the driver crashing. I popped in a EVGA 780 with the newest NVIDIA drivers and the problem went away., so my issue is something specific with 390x/my monitor. What’s weird is the problem got worse as I pumped more voltage into the 390X, despite my PSU being perfectly fine for this build. But even at stock speeds/voltages the problem still happens, just once every 30 minutes or so, and it happens no matter how much I undervolt/clock it as well.

I play on a 4K Asus PB287Q Using an DP 1.2 connection. With my secondary monitor being a 1080p HDMI connection, both 60Hz. My drivers are all updated, and I’ve tried repairing the game many times, and I’ve tried reinstalling the GPU drivers many times, as well as changing every MSI afterburner option under the sun in order to try and pinpoint what is causing this black screen issue. As you’ll see in the video my GPU is being fully used even when the monitor blacks out, which would point to a faulty/loose cable and me losing my signal. Nope, tried many cables, problem still persists and its only in this game I have the issue. Any help would be much appreciated as I have been banging my head on this for a while.

I unfortunately am having a similar/same problem. No matter how I run the game with any settings the screen will go black, seemingly random at this point, still have sound, and the game is still going on in the background, as I hear the fighting going on and my key presses still register. It will sometimes cut out for a second or sometimes will do it simultaneously a couple times, but the black screen itself only lasts at most a second or two.

Side Note:
I feel it’s important to point out that no matter what clock speeds/resolution/storage device I run the game on the problem still persists. I have tried running absolutely nothing but GW2 and the problem still occurs (Thought it was HW Acceleration related). I have double checked all drivers, motherboard BIOS etc are up to date. So as far as I can tell it’s either an GPU driver issue, a game rendering engine issue, or a combination of both. I do know I was not getting this issue before i got my R9 390X, could be the cause or just a coincidence.
