What runes should a Chronomancer use?

Oh shoot right, those mods don’t apply to phantasms and I lumped the two together. 440 ish DPS instead of the 1k. So it’s really 22k-36k damage in that window. That’s much more likely in a raid setting though a bit iffy (worst case the 36k is spread over 9 people, meaning people need to average 8k to make it even) , though in non raid scholar still comes out on top

Edit: as to where the numbers come from, mesmer sims roughly 11k-12k DPS, I used 11k. the damage is split roughly 4:6 mesmer:phantasm. That’s how you get the 440 (10% of the mesmer’s share). CS has a cooldown between 55s with lots of alacrity to 90 base. I was trying to show that the trade off is between the personal DPS and roughly how much party DPS is required to match

I think we can safely assume PvE from the gear. WvW rarely suggests assassins because reflects are so situational.

What it kinda boils down to is 1k personal DPS vs 5 seconds of quickness (when running mimic, WoA, and TW) every 55-90 seconds. Do you think 5 seconds of quickness can be equivalent to 55-90k damage? In a raid setting where everyone is stacked close enough to be in wells, I would say maybe. In non raid settings, I’d say almost definitely not.

Personally, I run scholar but I haven’t touched raids yet.

Near impossible to win as mesmer

I’d consider myself low/mid level mesmer. I own HoT, but I’m currently not playing with chrono traits.

Win rate is above 50% in unranked, was 50% on the dot in ranked, and I’m usually top half of the scoreboard (and I’m usually roaming for +1, so little of it comes from capping). Chrono is a few steps above alternative traits, but mesmer still is strong and viable at low/mid skill levels. Without hearing more about your playstyle, it sounds like a skill issue rather than a balance issue.

Stronghold potentially blue favored?

I haven’t played a super large sample size of stronghold yet (in the range of 10-15 games), but I’ve found that blue overwhelmingly seems to win, with only one of my games with a red win. While not statistically significant, I still feel like this is way off the mark for a map that should theoretically have a 50/50 win rate. A couple of things that tend to be consistent across the matches.

1. Early game
-Blue can typically down the gate guards before red can defend, while blue can more readily defend their guards
-This usually leads to blue downing the outer gates first, though red typically follows soon after

2. Mid game
-With the slight advantage early, blue tends to be able to rush the second gate much earlier, typically with notably more door breakers than red.
-With the inner gates vulnerable earlier, red tends to pull back, allowing blue to focus a bit more on offence. This is the only time where the game seems to stagnate a bit, and the main window where red has an opportunity to push to inner gate.

3. Late game
-Once inner goes down, a large amount of resources are devoted to defence. This is another area where I’ve noticed the biggest disparity between the two sides. Should red defence get killed off, it seems like the window that blue has to finish the lord is long enough that the lord kill will typically not get contested a second time. Conversely, blue defence seems to be able to respawn more readily, making red pushes significantly slower.
-My guess is that this stems from the fact that red has to travel further from spawn to lord room, long enough that if 1-2 defenders go down, blue is almost guaranteed a lord kill.

Is anyone else noticing something similar? I haven’t seen any other posts about it so I was just curious if it’s just in my head.
