In Dark Souls, I ran the heaviest, sturdiest armor and shield along with the war pick because it’s a war pick.

You misunderstand. I’m not talking about aggro. I’m talking about survivability. The traditional tank is heavy, metal, and unkillable and that’s what I want to be.

Hello. I’m something of a newbie. I got the game awhile ago and then my computer died. Anyway, I’m here now and I come from that other game as a very successful shield warrior. I survived almost everything. I even used it in PVP to limited success.

How can I translate that into the various aspects of GW2? (pvp/pve/solo) What will I need to learn? What should I look for? What should I avoid?
