I played WoW for 30 days with some of my guildies from AoC, the fact we crushing people in less than 10 hours after hitting 80 in 3v3 against people who played for 4+ years is a testament to the learning curve in that game. Pally is no easy. lol
Some comps in wow are relatively easy to play at a high level as they had a high skill floor, e.g. Beastcleave etc. Pallies at one point were like heart seeker thieves, easy to dominate at lower tiers of gameplay. Unless you were playing at gladiator level it doesn’t really mean much, and even then the diff between a glad and rank 1 is massive.
Also the fact you levelled to 80 gives you far more than 10 hours experience of a class. That combined with your synergy/communication/reflexes/aptitude if you play at a high level in ANY game means the feat you mentioned is not really anything unexpected.
I can assure you that players like hydra, venruki, reckful, ocelote (!) etc can move to other games very successfully in the same way you did. It says nothing about the game itself.
Anyway I digress, my point was your argument that most people are familiar with only 5 key binds and hence struggle with ele is sophism.

Suctum…people who came from other games and not AoC are not used to having more than 5 keybinds…
I think you vastly over simplify other games. I had 30+ key binds in wow on my Mage, and unlike gw2 you could have off-target targets (focus) so you could be attacking x while cc’ing y, and healing self/other.
I imagine a lot of other recent MMOs were similar so you are being a bit conceited.
That said, Ele only has about 14 excluding movement/dodge. But just burning through them on rotation is far from optimal, and there are other factors to allow for. I pretty much suck at Ele but it is not the key binds, it is the situational awareness as I can’t simply watch unit frames and interrupt a cast bar.
Aether McLoud.1975Yeah people with basic outfits are an instalose. I hate those, those are ALWAYS complete noobs. But how do you leave a tournament? I always get ported back in…
Funny story… I joined with my mate (a fellow complete noob) on Friday (I am rank 8 ele, he is rank 9 ranger), but we both use VOIP, and both played wow arena since s1 so work pretty well together, and he is a bleedin’ good player (a lot better than I).
We PUGged it… and you were our 5th Member. and didn’t join. And we were holding our own 4v5 for the first few minutes.
If you hadn’t left us short we would have comfortably won the 1st round at least.
I hated how elitist wow arenas were, don’t let GW2 be the same.
