I wish they could see my face of disappointment lol
Unless you want a collection of Gem Shop samples, which is what the chests are sold as, don’t buy keys. It’s like buying boxes of Whitman Samplers because on the box says there’s a chance to win a car. You are not going to get a car buying box upon box of chocolates.
800 Gems will get you 7 keys. First, with only 7 keys there is no way you can get 10 scraps for a ticket. So that’s out. And with the odds of a full ticket down in the 2-2.5% range, the chance for one or more tickets from 7 keys is 13.2-16.2%, less than rolling a 6-sided die and getting 1.
There is a reason why weapon skins from tickets go for as much as they do on the TP. They are in demand and the supply is limited to players willing to spend a great deal of money and hope they are lucky.
Sorry you had to learn about this lesson the hard way. Currently 100g is 940 gems, or about 8.5g per $1 but it’s always fluctuating. That 800g you bought would be worth a bit more than 85g.
I don’t get the people that support this kind of business. It’s so expensive it’s unreal.
This saddens me greatly. Also thanks for legit opinions.
Also, for the trolls I am no “scrub” in this game. I got all professions at level 80. I believe my opinion is worth at least something.
I bought 800 gems for the purpose of attaining at least one of these new shadow weapon skins, however to my surprise I got only two scraps and some random stuff I have no use for. Here’s my honest question: Why is it that you can buy full outfits / cool looking armor in the gemstore for 700-800 gems (which is very reasonable), but you need to rely on RNG to attain the weapon skins? It’s gambling. Most people I know are not willing to gamble 20-30€ for a chance to get 1-2 weapon skins. I could get an entirely new game with that kind of money.
The other option is to buy roughly 1600 gems from the store, but that’s 20€ right there. One shadow weapon skin costs around 105g and you can convert roughly 800 gems to that amount. That’s huge overpricing. 20€ for two weapon skins? That’s an extremely questionable way to price your items. At least it isn’t as big of an overpricing as the resurrection orbs. Now those are the real overpriced ones. Anyway, I hope to god that someday I can actually buy the weapon skins from the shop itself with a reasonable price, because I cannot agree with this.
Also, 10 Black Lion Scraps for 1 Black Lion Claim Ticket? I paid 10€ and I got two scraps. Needless to say that was the last time I will buy Black Lion Keys for weapon skins.
I’m on Blacktide. Forgot to mention that.
I have 6 max level characters and I have played WoW for 5 years, SWTOR for one year, Rift for 2 months, TERA for half a year, ArcheaAge for a month and a few others, so I know my way around in MMO’s so I’d like to find a guild that likes to do WvW and run a few dungeons occasionally.

Just to comfort you.. It still hasn’t been fixed. I’ve had that problem for half a year now. Not even interested to see the rest of the story anyway. I heard the Zhaitan fight was nothing short of a disappointment.
Good answers. No trolls. I appreciate it.
Guild Wars 2 sPvP has been the worst PvP experience I’ve had thus far in gaming. I had more fun PvP:ing even in Rift. Guess I’ll have to abandon my favorite aspect of the game completely. You guys keep the zerging. I’ll rather keep my strategy elements. . As GW is now, it will not get to be the “number one PvP MMO” as they claim. It will never get to that level like this.
Whenever I play sPvP I cannot help but notice that there is ZERO communication in ANY match. And I do mean ANY match. It’s nothing but mindless zerging. It is not rewarding in the slightest. Also, while talking about rewards, the game doesn’t reward the good players at all. Want to defend? Be prepared to lose points then.
I watched some video where it was mentioned that GW will attempt to become an e-Sports game. That will never happen. Not like this. Fix this mindless zerging and give credit to the players that deserve it, not to the ones running around with the mass mindlessly hacking everything on their way in hopes of getting a few kills for points. This is JUST like playing Call of Duty. People just want to kill as many people as possible and possibly capture a few bases along the way.
Share your thoughts on this one guys. Do YOU think the sPvP is just a mindless zergfest that doesn’t reward the actual good players? Also, note that this is coming from a solo player. I do not play with a group. Still doesn’t change the fact that there should be at least SOME sort of communication. At least WoW got that aspect right. People actually gave a crap about winning and not the trivial things, such as killing blows and healing done etc.. I hope I am not alone on this one. I can’t be the only one to notice this. Share your views guys.
