actually, considering that newer maps tend to have much fewer waypoints, end-game mounts could be a thing…

though I prefer if it was implemented in a different way..

like having to care for a juvenile stage, till it grows at several morphs. Once you reach ‘adult morph’ you could ride the mount for X many steps (1-2 minutes of travel), before it goes into a cooldown.

you then need to keep feeding it after use to restore ‘stamina’ or whatever…
