No wonder the ranger’s reputation is so bad when even the players that know the benefits FrostSpotter won’t use it.

Well yeah, that’s a different story, I’m always open to polite people, but well, I’ve yet to find people who are actually polite to rangers.

Eh, I don’t think it’ll help to ask for spotter/frost spirit pug rangers at the forums. Most of the pug rangers won’t get anywhere near the forum. So you probably should do as people are saying: put the request for meta builds in the lfg.

Very stubborn, I know, but then again, when I ever actually want to do a dungeon run, I either play with friends, or ask for pug people who are interested in having a fun time in the dungeon, not in finishing the dungeon as time efficient as possible.

Ehm… saying that a class isn’t played a lot is not a valid argument for saying the class is ‘worthless’. It can mean multiple things like:
- The skills to master the class are quite high.
- People like playing caster type classes more, or melee type classes more or something like that.
- etc.

Again, it absolutely doesn’t have to mean the class itself is bad.

Also, you can talk about animations on this forum, but wanting the animations more ‘epic’ isn’t really a balancing issue, it’s more a personal preference and should be posted somewhere else I think. Just saying.

I notice that most of your complaints are about the animation quality rather than the actual quality of the kits or traits or skills of the engineer. It would be helpfull to say why (!) you think they are worthless, instead of just stating they are, without any reasoning. (Reasoning will ward off most of the trolls )

I love this thread, it’s so full of positivity towards each other and full of learning experiences! This thread should be stickied in my honest opinion.

Also, I would love to duel the EU king of the hill, but even though I’ve played this game since launch, (and main a ranger) I’m still a kitten ranger, haha! Maybe when I get a bit better.

Loved all the vids, they made me laugh so hard that tears ran down my cheeks! :P I want to have a favorite, but I can’t, they are all awesome, haha!:D

This, I want this, especially the whips, love, love, love(!) the idea.

About the pets themselves, I don’t like the permastow idea, the core idea (as Anet wanted the class to work) is with a pet by the rangers side. I totally agree with that idea, even though the mechanic of the pet doesn’t work properly. That doesn’t mean that they do not have to fix it by the way, I simply abhor the fact that if I lose focus on my pet that it charges right into the first AoE it finds to die.

I definitely like the spirit pet idea though! It’s a simple enough mechanic which does make the pet a very valuable asset to the ranger.

The biggest enemies of the longbow ranger are: trees, bushes and let we not forget, grass. Try to use the environment to the fullest, that will do miracles for surviving against them. Also, try to close the gap after they used their first RF, rangers (the badly played ones) tend to get confused and panic when you do that.

Wow, that’s a very constructive and adult response…

I think only a different animation, like someone said, a black arrow and a black trail or something like that will be fine, it doesn’t also need a cast time reduction imo.
