What I’m seeing:
The current content patch proves that the “guesting feature” is broken or (at the least) being exploited as a method to complete general content, rather than play with friends located remotely.
The Example:
With the Tequatl “first-kill” status of BlackGate, this server has now become a magnet of players wishing to get in on the action, rather than learning and coordinating their home servers. As a result, local players who attempt to join their friends on their own servers are locked in ~4+ hour queues to join.
The Suggestion:
I feel Native player priority is a fair and logical solution to this problem.
The following would outline rules for priority:
1. Native and guest players may freely join any server as-is.
2. When the maximum player count spawns a overflow, guesting is stopped.
3. Once the overflow is opened, any native player that enters the zone will be given priority on the home server.
4. Guesting players will be removed from the server on a last-in-last-out basis in favor of native players, and sent to the overflow.
5. If the home server is completely filled by native players, then natives will also be sent to the overflow with a priority queue to transfer to the home server when space is available, prior to guests.
