Yes it does when you make a new character and find out that almost every single aspect of the game is locked (Even dyes and the wardrobe are locked..). Everyone who comes from other mmos says “Oh, just 10 skills? Its that all? Im used to play with almost 32 skill”
Just, what were they thinking?!! Most of people DONT like it. Just have a look all of thoses messages complaining about feature patch. Not enough? Well extend that to reddit comunity, fan websites, social media etc…
The forum and reddit community are but a tiny fraction of the playerbase. Do not try to speak for the massive majority who don’t even give a single kitten about the forums or reddit.
And to all the people saying “Looks like I wont be playing a new character”. Well shut up than cause it doesn’t affect you anymore.
TIL anet should not encourage people to play their game and spend money on extra character slots
Give me an example where they have. They have slots available to those who wish to buy it but they aren’t advertising with “Buy more character slots because our game is amaaaazing!”.
I think the problem with all of the “discontent players” who are saying that the game is now harder for new players and is not at all smooth is that they are seeing it from a veteran point of view. You guys have been playing the game for so long, and these changes are so different to what you are familiar with that to YOU it seems harder, slower and bad. See it from the perspective of someone who doesn’t know anything about Guild Wars 2.
Other mmo’s (let’s take WoW) give you generally one skill per level maybe two if you are getting a passive. why should Guild Wars 2 do any different? This system works to let players get used to their class. What do you think would happen if you started WoW with all of the skills? Your mind would probably explode.
Arena Net I believe, is trying to do just that. They are limiting the amount of skills you have at the start to help new players become more familiar with the class they are playing because they don’t have so much on their table at once. And saying that five skills aren’t a lot to handle is probably the wrong thing to say when it comes to general population. I see people asking me what an item does when the description plainly states “IT DOES THIS”.
Anyways I think people just need to chill out and learn to like the system or stop complaining because Arena net will not change what they just added just for you. And to all the people saying “Looks like I wont be playing a new character”. Well shut up than cause it doesn’t affect you anymore.

- I silently get angry and insult any commander who isn’t leading a zerg…
- I get really angry when I see a guild doing guild missions and there are 6-8 commanders…
- From time to time I join duel arena’s and yell surprise buttsex as I leap into the fray uninvited.
- When I see an NPC Asuran say one of their lines I swear profusely under my breath calling them little kittens and f*****g b******s… (I have a swearing problem…)
- I get really salty when I hear warriors say “Come on, hit me!”
- I have major inventory OCD and often times hold up dungeons while I situate or salvage loot I find.
- I have way to many things in my inventory just for the sake of collecting.
- Often times I choose fashion over practicality when it comes to my weapon choices. ( IE: trying to make a DPS warrior with Sword/Shield cause it looks kitten.)
- Sometimes I become very sarcastic to anyone who argues in map chat and say things like “Hey let’s all argue some more, cause thats really productive!”.
- My final confession is that I am extremely self conscious about how much I talk in guild chat. Often times I think everyone hates me cause I annoy myself by how much I talk or what I say.

I don’t think my post was at all venomous I was simply asking why it is that their policy is the way it is. I didn’t attack them at all.
I apologize. I removed my post because I didn’t realize that arena net had addressed my question earlier.
Hello everyone. So I’ve been playing alot of PvP lately and it’s been fun but also extremly frustrating and gets be to the point where I don’t even want to play ever again lol. Basically what my issue is is that I have my build which I have found online and that I like alot and I practice in the mists by killing golems and the npc classes. But when I go into hot join PvP I literally NEVER stand a single chance. Whenever I get even close to another player I am instantly smashed into the floor. Be it a necromancer who condi’s the kitten out of my HP before I even get the chance to pop a condi removal skill or a stupid thief who backstabs me and then smashed me with the insane crit rate on most “meta” builds. Hell even rangers with greatsword roll the kitten out of me, I go up to them and start a swinging and am instantly crippled or immobilized, so I pop my immobilize removal and am instantly immobilized again! After which they begin to smash the kitten out of me because everyone seems to have massive DPS. Now one of the other huuuge issues I have is that I am NEVER supported at all. When I enter a hot join match the team comp is absolute kitten tier. 90% of the time over half the team on both sides is just mesmers and thieves which both roll me harder than any other class because quite frankly they are OP against new players who don’t know how to deal with perma stealth or 900 phantasms running circles around you (that newbie being me). My point is is that there is never team support. People are always off doing their own thing and when I am attacked it’s usually against more than one person and I am instantly killed. I know the solution to this is to start doing ranked matches but to my understanding ranked matches are for more skilled players who actually know what they are doing and hot join is for learning the ropes. But how do I learn the ropes if team comp is kitten tier 100% of the time and I am always smashed into the floor by pretty much every other player and class in the game? Please help me guys
The tip about going into the Heart of the Mist was a good one. I went in there with my guardian and set up my favourite build (healway guardian) and tried a few pvp matches with it and decided NO, HELL NO! Guardian is not my thing haha………… @Rabid Smiles: Thats a good idea!
However after scratching guardian I decided that I wanted to try something I have never played before to challenge myself and I think I’ve settled on Thief. It’s got a steep learning curve but I think the stealth and evasiveness of the class really fits the way I like to play. I don’t like fighting in the thick of it all. I would rather jump in deal damage and condi and jump out to give myself time to think of another action to take. Also Thief has always kittened me off when I fight them so if I hate them why not join them?
Hey guys. So my problem is that I can never seem to stay with one class for too long. I really want to get a character to 80 but I just end up getting bored with the class I am playing. I have a level 55 Guardian which I am comfortable playing with however it is very boring and uneventful and the combat feels very slow and clunky and fights take forever. I love Engineer and fights generally are very exciting but I feel too squishy and die very often. So I have been thinking of playing Warrior again since it was my first class in beta and enjoyed my time with it. But the problem is is that I feel like it is such a waste to stop playing the 2 classes I have invested so much time and gold into and start over again… Honestly I just want some advice and tips from people on how to choose the right class for me and to better enjoy it so that I don’t feel the need to move on to another one.
PS: I feel like maybe these feelings are because my ultimate goal is to play WvW and I know I will enjoy it but the grind to 80 makes me lose interest and so I never reach my goal… (I hate pve)
