I also support this idea of Display Name Change. When I started playing Guild Wars 2, I chose a name from World of Warcraft, which was the game I most played back then and some other players from our community also joined to play GW2.
However, most of them have already quit or I never see them online at least, so I’d like to change my GW2 nickname to something more relevant or even something related to GW2 rather than WoW. (okay the name is a Finnish word, not exactly related to WoW either, but a character name).
Maybe limit the Display Name Change once per year or only once per account and if you want to change it again you must make a request to support for them to change it for you with a good reason. Blizzard allows a free Battle.net nickname change once across the whole service, Arenanet/NCSoft should consider the same option for GW2.
Hi,
I’d like to join the guild. I’ve already sent an ingame mail to shaquinna.2869 / Evanny.
I’ll be online tomorrow/next week.
Thanks,

That is odd. Play for a bit and see if it happens again.
Hasn’t happened again for a while, but I stopped playing for tonight already. Will see tomorrow if it happens again.
What…?
After leveling up the ability and environmental sound effects were re-enabled automatically!
Nah I have a desktop PC but it was set up back at the store so I don’t know it’s exact specs, but still it has been working without any major issues though.

Everything looks good. Have you tried updating your sound drivers recently?
Nope, I just made a fresh install of GW2 today, but last time a week or so ago I played the game I didn’t have this issue. I have some integrated sound card and finding recent drivers for it is quite difficult.
I have this similar issue. After playing a while half of the sound effects in game just stop playing. Skill sound effects and environmental sound effects seem to me mostly affected by this issue, music seems to be playing fine and I can also hear NPC speech. Relogging back to character selection and re-entering the game solves the issue temporarily.
To my knowledge this started with newest patch.

This might be why it’s not asked, if you log in from “secured network” which has been remembered by email authenticator.

Both the game and the account management aren’t asking for Authenticator Key either for me.
