I understand these sylvari are barely adolescents, and Caithe would probably forgive Faolain after even the thinnest lie, but she ought to be smart enough to question what the hell was going on while her back was turned when F. is obviously hunting down their sister with no pretense of letting her go home alive.

I believe that the reaction of PC it’s consequence of been witness of someone other’s memories. Even if from a game point of view the players are actually playing as Caithe (otherwise it will be just watching a cinematic), the Character is more likely looking through Caithe’s eyes and perceiving events like Caithe did.
If Caithe perceived centaurs turning hostile, this is what the PC will learn from Caithe’s memories.
And I don’t feel Caithe was just stupid not to realize Faolain manipulation. She was a newly born creature, with very limited experience of the world. And she probably trusted her Sylvari sister more than every other creature.

One would argue that a massive attack on the historical city of Lion’s Arch, all the victims, the fact that a giant drill is at work to unearth kitten knows what but most likely something terrible and destructive is a solid chunk of lore in the making.

No, everything points to this event not being popular at all, and being done only by a tiny sliver of the game population. By all signs, the wurm event (being both harder and more annoying) will end up in even worse state.
And yet some people are asking to have more of those. And Anet listens to them, because they do not want to admit they may have made a design mistake.
So one of the best contents of GW2 is CoF Path1 and ArenaNet should do more of those.? Maybe even shorter in duration and easier?

I would agree that mounts aren’t really needed, considering we have easy swiftness boons, waypoint traveling and so on.

Keep the fee, but (a) make it possible to change it anywhere, and (b) don’t start it from scratch: just remove some points here, to add them there…
Not really a problem with the fee, but if the change could be made anywhere the interface should clearly show you that you are paying when you change points assignation.
I also fear that changing build anywhere could spoil some encounter and/or break the game pace to the whole party.

7/Well free is maybe too much,(not actually sure how much it cost right now tho) maybe cheaper then? I think that Arenanet has it as a goldwell right now.
The fee to reset traits is quite small, actually, but the system is annoying.
Each time i want to try to allocate 5 trait points from one line to another I have to speak with a NPC, pay and restart from scratch to allocate points and traits.
I think it is a barrier if I only mean to try a small variation.
Also I don’t believe this is the main money sink mechanic in game so… it’s better to set it to zero cost.

Here some suggestion of mine to improve GW2. Hope someone in ArenaNet read it and could find some useful feedback for future development.
1) Emphasize secondary mechanic for most events and boss encounters. Currently, in open world, only few events has some side mechanic. Often secondary mechanic can be just ignored (for example the big cannon for Tequatl).
Most events deserve to be fought through some cooperation with other people.
2) The game needs lots more armor and weapon skins. Aestetic is one of the core concept in the game. Current armors are hard to mix sometimes. With heavy armors, for example, different sets give different results with same dye and don’t fit together, or the armor styles are way too different.
The overal impression is to have just few choices.
3) A nice idea would be to add to current dungeon token system, an elite version of armors and weapons (different look only) that random drop from final chest. That would be a reason to repeat a dungeon without affecting basic dungeon armor/weapon acquisition by tokens.
4) Also in open world a random drop of rare skins will be a great reason to go back and do Events. Additionally, different skins or set parts can be tied to specific regions or Event Chains in order to distribute players across maps.
5) As an alternative, these rare skin can be dropped as single-use recipes, to keep crafting useful.
6) Lots of cosmetic stuff could be added. So few town clothes are present ATM… let’s do something also for the roleplay! It should be also good for the shop to add more, isn’t it?
7) Traits point assignation should be definitely free, and with “+” and “-” button instead of current “only add” button. This will encurage build sperimentation.
In order to avoid changes for single encounter, maybe the traits setup could be permitted only while in a city, or in a safe outpost.
8) The world currently has a great potential for side stories. Ebonhawke has lots of astounding places to visit, same DR… but nothing really happens there. I hope there’s something already planned for those places or, please, add it!
Even a more standard storyline quest chain will be fine, instead of Dynamic Events. There’s plenty of story can be told with such great environment. Please, do it!
9) Guild Roster Panel could benefit of some additional information, as the ones already present in GW1 (times since last connected, who promoted to a higher rank). A better visual separation of ranks in roster will be also useful.
10) Add a couple of “equipped” minipet slots in Hero panel. At the moment minipets lie in collectible section of the bank, unless you pick up some to carry and… waste inventory slots!
Of course, I’m open to discussion.

They are two different games, and GW2 does not have the same design philosophy as GW1.
It has (well, it had) same design philosophy for some things, it hasn’t for others.
This is not my statement, ArenaNet told us, its president and its lead designer did.
We just ask ArenaNet to give us back what was promised for GW2, and what most people bought the game for.

And wither you like it or not, people have asked for this change. So there are quite a few people happy for it. It’s coming and there isn’t anything you can do about it.
And now people are asking to change this change. We are asking them not to do it, that’s what we are doing about it. You think people can ask for it but we cannot ask not to have it???
I am officially asking, do away with ascended armour (or at least reduce it stats in line with exotics). Reasons why I do not want it can be found in other posts both by myself, and others.

So I haven’t posted on the forums before but I dislike the Ascended gear enough to make my fist post. I do not want this in a game I play. I’m not saying I’ll “quit” because of this but it had definitely made me reconsider things.
If the Ascended gear had the same stats as Exotics (base stats + gem) and an infusion slot (which only helped in Dungeons) then I’d be fine with it but the extra tier of gear…. No thanks.
It would be that easy.
Just keep a stat cap as GW1 did.
You could infuse for Karka, defuse for Aliens, do whatever you want lore-wise.. but keep fixed stats cap!

So ANET is now catering to the many screams of WoW sheep that want a new WoW instead of their core playerbase? Why? Just so these people can play the game for another month then complain they dont have anything more to do and then this kittentarts over again and again… the game doesnt have a sub so what justification is there for this kitten?
Vertical progression systems like infusion or the lightbringer buff were ok but better general stats that apply to each and every area of the game definitely are not.

I ran into the underground bandit’s cabbage garden just north east of Demetra waypoint (Harati Hinterlands), defeated veteran bandit and guards and interacted with door.
The door opened but a sort of invisible wall prevent me to enter. Tried multiple times, also by jumping and dodge rolling, but no way to enter.

Same bug happened to me and to people that did the Ettin events with me. After Gort’s house is free, he smash down the bottom wall of the cave, unveiling the chest.
Unfortunately the chest is already open and can’t interact with it (that’s a shame: the event with such hidden reward was a nice surprise!)
