I didn’t really know where to post it. I’m sorry if this is the wrong place.
Hi! I’m Gregory and I’ve been playing Guild Wars for about 10 years. Of course I had break here and there but I’ve spend the most time in Guild Wars world among all franchises. I ordered Guild Wars 2 exacly 24 August 2012 (few days before release), soon my Thief will celebrate the fifth birthday.
About one and a half year ago I had to stop playing due to exams and University stuff. I couldn’t effort time nor money for the HoT expansion. During past year I tried to focus on studies and it paid off. I passed the exams and came back home for the vacations.
Last friday I decided that I want to start playing Guild Wars 2 again so I bought a copy of HoT and jumped straight into the game excited like a little kid. Unfortunately I encountered plenty of issues I’ve never had before. Firstly constant disconnects and weird errors. It lasted for a day or two and it calmed down. Not for long tho because past 3 days my ping is out of the roof. I have average of 600-800 and even 1000 ping sometimes. I’ve tried traceroute, dns flush, google public dns, visited “How to address lag” webpage (https://help.guildwars2.com/hc/en-us/articles/230665187-How-to-Address-Lag). Nothing helps. I contacted ISP and they told me that it’s everything alright on their side.
Secondly, well, I didn’t know expansion is going to be annouced in a few days. Now I discovered that ANet plan to offer all of the prior expansions and the latest expansion for one single purchase price. I just wanted to enjoy the game you know. I cannot ask for a refund because I bought a copy from 3rd party seller (declared official partner of ANet tho).
And here I’m with a game that won’t be fully upgrated soon I can’t even play because of cruel ping/network errors.
I’m not disappointed because content I experienced so far was good. I’m just sad because I can’t experience it more.
That’s it.
Regards, Gregory.
Sorry for the grammar, I hope it isn’t that bad.
