I honestly thought it’s nice to see that they are incorporating the other mats to make stuff… But the amount needed to make one Top or one Bottom piece is absurd! I’m insanely broke now! And never mind farming, the rate that these items drop is slooooooow it’s not the same as Ores which we can mine, and Wood. Linen stuff and leather stuff way too hard to acquire even after salvaging everything I get.

Decided it was time for me to craft my first ascended armor. Went with Zojja’s Guise (Medium Ascended Armor). Have been hoarding the mats required to be able to do this, and the time gated materials as well… However, I noticed that the amount of the ascended materials required has increased.

For the TOP ARMOR PIECE:
On Dulfy’s guide, it states for The Top Piece of Medium Ascended Armor that you need is 4 Bolt of Damask, 5 Elonian Squares among other things to craft the top piece.

Now after HoT, I see that we need 3 Damask “Patches” which require 3 bolt of damask and 3 elonian leather square to make JUST the patch. To top it off, after HoT it totals to 4 Bolt of damask and 8 Elonian leather Squares to make the Medium Ascended Armor TOP all thanks to these “Patches”… which we didn’t need before.

See what I mean??

I suppose my question is WHY alter the amount of mats needed to make these armor pieces? Why the patches?? You didn’t need these before HoT… I could understand if you were making Legendary armor, and the patches, although ridiculous, is needed. But I fail to see your point ANET, as to WHY you felt you needed to make Ascended Armor increasingly difficult to craft. Could you please elaborate that point? Thank you.
