WvW roaming and the gear customization. these 2 things consume so many of my play hours.
I wanna kill scrubs, but hey u gotta look good doin it, dont ya.
ok so after fiddling a bit here n there with all the suggestions that i got on this thread (thanks to them) ive managed to reduce my load times to about around 1 min, which is a big improvement.
But despite that i have not been able to fix the screen freeze issue at all. Rather i feel the screen freeze has gotten worse.
Every and yes i mean every 20-25 min into playing the screen freezes for a good 20-30 sec before becoming perfectly fine. I mean on regular playing i get over 45FPS + and my setting are on auto detect.
I think maybe there is some issue with this new patch? that is making all the happen? because i do not EVER see this kind of behavior in any other game at all, and i mean any.
Anyways thanks to everyone who helped
Hi forums,
I played GW2 for about 6 months on a different laptop. Now coming back to GW2 after a short break im having issues with it. I got a new laptop, and im experiencing load times of over 5 min whenever entering ANY zone, andn sudden screen freezez.
After a bit of research i found that moving GW2 to kitten would help, but unfortunately my lappy has only a HDD and i cannot upgrade to kitten because it is wayyyy to expensive here. I really dont think its worth spending SO much money on kitten.
I wanted to know is there some other option besides upgrading to kitten that can fix this issue. I really want to play GW2 but the load times restrict me as every dungeon i go to my entire team has to wait 4-5 min just for me EVERY time.
I play a few other games that are bigger and heavier than GW2 size/graphics vise but non of them show this kinds of behavior of hanging or having lots of load times.
Below is this specs of my lappy. Could anyone suggest an alternative to buying kitten.
OS Name: Microsoft Windows 10 Home Single Language

Graphics: AMD Radeon R5 M335
Thank You
Hi i started guild wars 2-3 weeks back and i play theif at lvl 80 with all exotic gear by now. What is starting to concern me is that as HoT is approaching i am noticing that thief might be getting worse as a class. Now since im new i have very little knowledge so i just want some expert advice. I read the forums a lot and everywhere all i see is theif dead, theif worst class, theif weak class, mesmer op, this op that op.
Even when i sit for hrs on twitch and see different streamers no one bothers with thief or talks good of it. Have i made a wrong choice? i mean i find all classes fun to play.
So its not like “play it if its fun to u” cause there will be no fun left when u try ur best and hardest and still be at the bottom of the table just cause ur class limits u.
Could someone with experties plz guide me in this. Dose thief have a good future? or shall i just go play some other class like mesmer or necro or something?
Hi i started to play gw2 2-3 weeks back and have a silvary theif at lvl 80 with full exotic gear. I also managed to gather up lots of matz and gold and random stuff over the course of my play.
As of now i am not happy with my choice of race, i wanted to make a new char to 80 maybe a human or norn. But im worried all my things in my silvary might be of no use no more. I am slightly confused as to what all can i transfer over to this new char and what all will i leave behind with it. If its too much i have to leave behind id rather not switch.
Hello,
First and foremost i started play on EU server – Gandara. Am lvl 80 with full exotic gear set.
Hi im 22 year old male gamer playing strictly MMORPG’s from the past 10 years. I have experience of mmo’s from many games such as world of warcraft, rift, archage, neverwinter, etc. I have been part of many guilds along my journey, not only representing them as a member but also co-owning and leading them.
I started GW2 a couple of weeks back when a friend recommended it to me. So far i have loved playing it and made significant progress from what little knowledge i gathered.
Im here looking for a dedicated guild to join and be a part of. As i only can speak English i prefer a guild with majority English speakers for the convenience of all. I do not want to be a part of zerg guilds with 200+ members where only 20 of them talk in chat to each other about what they had for breakfast this morning. Quality over quantity. A guild with a commanding leader and fun and loyal members.
I am looking for a guild with a good amount of dedicated members who are active and experienced. A mumble or teamspeak server for the guild is mandatory as i do not like to play casual.
As of now i am active on a daily basis with a 4-5hr play time daily and more on the weekends.
As of now since im new to this game i am still getting a grasp of pvp. As for pve content i can say i have a good amount of experience from the past which makes my job here easy, and from what ive seen the pve content in this game is not challenging at all once u get a grasp of it. Hopefully in the coming expansion we will see some new and more difficult raids which will be fun.
It may sound as if i am demanding certain things and trying to sound very blunt but from my experience and as all of you also might know, when playing a mmo for a long term it is important to be a part of a good community. This game is a multiplayer for a reason. Also the fact that once joined in a guild i do not jump n switch from one to another. its just not me. I do know u can join multiple guild in this game but that is a play style that i do not prefer.
if there are any questions please do send me a private message to my profile.
Thank You
