Additional frames are purchasable via the vendor in LA for 250 sweaters each. Thus people can buy as many additional chances to make the Endless Tonic as they wish to. This should help to stabilize (and possibly lower) the price of the Toymaker’s and Dolak tonics. It’s a double RNG setup, but at least it’s repeatable.
Assuming an average 1 in 6 chance of making a toy tonic and an average 1 in 3 chance of making Toymaker’s, it will cost around 60g (at current prices) to create. Good luck.
I assume the encounter still allows for two people to stand on the rocks right by the stairs leading down to the lava to fire at the Destroyer from range with minimal damage? Every time I’ve ran this in the past my necro and someone else would just fire from max distance. It takes about 8 passes but there is 0 risk.
So it’s a tradeoff – a faster run (two or three iterations) with high chance of death or a slower run (8? iterations) with 0 chance of death. I’m ok with giving groups such a decision.
Our group did this fractal just now and it’s a mess. We took the Archdiviner’s health down to 0, he dropped the hammer, then he went back up to 25% after taking the seal down to 75%; we kept the hammer and hit it a few more downs to get the seal down to sub 50%. Once it was sub 50% we were able to AoE the seal the rest of the way to 0% just like before this patch. Adds which spawned on a prior attempt did not despawn upon a wipe but stuck around so each new attempt had us doing some trash clearing before re-engaging the boss. Each wipe attempt reset the seal health back to 100% but the boss’ health persisted through attempts.

Some time spent with Wolfram Alpha would put into perspective just how much bad luck you have to have after 10,000+ attempts assuming a .1% chance of obtaining a precursor. With 10k attempts: Expected value – 10, Standard deviation – 3.161, Variance – 9.99
With 1k attempts there is a 63% chance at success
So if you really threw 40,000 items into the forge without a precursor you are over 2 (almost 3) standard deviations away from the expected 10 precursors which, while still within the realm of the probability, is just unfortunate luck.
