Guild Wars 2

I still enjoy this game a lot, though i prefere the much more easy old world than the expansion. If i wanted a challenge i would do WvW.

I dont mind more difficult contend, but i am a rather casual player and actually finishing a raid seems pretty undoable for me. Compare this GW2 to ESO. eso is way worse than GW 2 but they did a great job with raiding/trials. Its all about mechanics and people could do it even with not the best possible gear in game.

Furthermore you were rewarded way faster with nice looking armor drops. That takes forever in GW2.

I am currently still working on my first ascended items and a legendary weapon, which will take quite some time still. I like that legendarys take very long to make but since ascended is pretty much a must have for ANY HOT CONTENT (including open world) this is why maps are really empty.

I love the specializations but its not worth the buying price of an expansion only veterans, so called “pro players” that stream and have played basically 24/7 can truly play and therefore enjoy.

HoT is a letdown for me. I may not be the majority but i know plenty who share my point of view.

But to the point now: i really like how the mesmer looks and the effects of Chronomancer wells, so i decided to create one. I leveled her in the Myst and felt really safe in my encounters with enemy players, so i thought this will also be the case in PvE.

The truth however is the complete opposite. I feel very squishy and when i look at my damage numbers it feels as if i am doing something wrong. I dont have the funds for Ascended armor or weapons, but i currently run full berserker armor (exotic) with strength runes and use a GS + Sword Shield.

In HoT i honestly have a lot of trouble when i am on my own. I cant tank and my damage is also low. Its quite frustrating since i really want to like this class. I think i just dont get how i should play and gear it.

Can you guys be so kind and give me some advise? I would also appreciate a guide to open world HOT or some tips of the role the mesmer has in encounters as used to be a dps oriented player before. Does the playstyle changes when i play solo? If so… how?
