This evening i did just one knight and i got this achievement. No kidding. I’ve done all 3 before but nothing and out of the blue i get this achievement after killing just one knight and the other 2 still being up.
also when you sell you pay the costs for putting it up on ah. I Always thought that taking items off again would refond the full amount but it doesnt refund kitten. Yesterday i lost 40-50g that way by putting things up for sale and taking it off again to undercut another person and back up again. Suddenly i noticed i was down 40-50g. That really sucked
Not really hard to catch up no. Just be sure to buy your gear from ah instead of crafting it yourself. Crafting will cost you tons of money and in the end not being worth it unless you at one point want to craft ascended maybe but ascended itsnt that important either. I have tons of ascended mats already, i just spent it on the new event backpack, and all weapon and armor making crafts on 500 and i havent made a single ascended item yet lol.
Thats to show you how important ascended is. Im not bothering without me knowing 100% sure i wont be wasting mats on something i might not want to use in the future.
Make sure you do gather though coz the mats can be worth a ton plus give nice xp.
Besides that all you have to do is buy your gear from ah. Keep in mind that blue gear , if you dont put any sigil/runes on it can be resold on ah after you’ve worn it so you dont actually loose money on buying it. That plus selling your gathered stuff should make you plenty money. Once you hit 80 you simply buy the exotic gear, they are cheap, few gold at most.
Besides that crafting really isnt worth it. Maybe jewelcrafter is worth it, i have one at 400, since its fairly cheap to make your own exotic jewelry it seems ? Maybe others know better.
Cooking might also be worth it for buffs but then i think you need to go out and gather your own mats which i find to time consuming so i dont use my 400 cooking at all. Some food buffs can be quite expensive.
Ofcourse you are right but my point is if you prefer to do so you should not be feeling this disoriented and having to retreat because you cant tell anymore whats going on.
Its the same for playing a norn. People could say then dont play a norn. Well thing is you should be able too without feeling handicapped.
Its just bad design in my eyes. Its pretty to look at sure but its totallly not functional in instanced pvp.
Ive pvp’d with my ranger, it was alright just all those pets were annoying as hell.
Same with my mesmer.
Same with my thief.
For over a year targetting was a nightmare. Thank god they finally fixed that.
Now i play a warrior who only meelee’s and its apparent how terrible it is playing a class right in the middle of it all. At least thats what i do with my hammer wielding warrior. I jump in and start hitting stuff.
All those pets that block my view, the abundance of graphics, buildings and trees that block my view.
I cant see anything thats going on often enough when surrounded by 2 players and pets and clones all over the place. Pet/clone hitbox is large enough to block my view but then on top of that there’s the graphical splendor of spells etc which totally disorients because i cant even see my target circle anymore or the where the caster is. This is zoomed out to pretty much max. Red circles at their feet yeah but with pets and graphics and buildings/trees blocking my view i can just as well give up.
Now with my warrior its apparent how terrible spvp design is. Its not the maps. Its the classes that deliberately make small chars, asura comes to mind, and surround themselves with pets. On top of that you have the graphics and god forbid you play a norn because then on top of it all you have your surroundings constantly blocking your view.
How on earth they hope spvp to be an E-sport is beyond me really.
This game is encouraging you to not meelee. Its just silly.
I shouldnt have to be forced to play ranged since otherwise i cant see kitten whats all going on around me coz i feel completely disorientated by pets, graphics and surroundings and have to much trouble to find my target since graphics block my view of identifying the circle at their feet.

Im still having this problem with my g9x logitech mouse, since launch of the game so thats over a year now. My mouse is wired btw. I already talked to support back then but they couldnt help me much. I have all the mouse software installled, up to date, and the latest nvidia drivers. Rolling back to older drives doesnt solve it either. Cleaning registry doesnt solve it either. I only have it with this game. Im again using this mouse since i play battlefield 4.
Ive been using a cheap replacement mouse for month to not have this issue occur however now i use my old mouse again the problem still exists.
I dont care if its to hard or not but after 6 pug tries covered over several days coz i didnt have much time and still getting no further then oozes it becomes boring very fast. It needs to much coordination for a simple inexperienced pug group to get past the oozes. So then your busy for 30 mins trying. Most give up by then coz they have no clue how to solve it so in that regard its a huge waste of time so far and demotivating to even bother again. Explaining tactics doesnt seem to help much either. Most come unprepaired traits wise etc.
Im sure its a fun and challenging dungeon and all but so far the experience sux. It seems very unlikely that those who say they beat it the first time did this with an average pug.
Decided to look it up again coz it had interresting info if you have no clue what to expect or what goes on. Maybe itll help some others with the encounter. Its just a preview video but they explain the mechanics so it helps.

Lol i had this problem at launch already. I see its still not fixed. I had a logitech back then. Now i have a cheap mouse and problem gone. Bad though this issue still exists.
shotbow is just to little damage to slow so i never use it.
Longbow rapid fire with pet swap quickness or zephyr. Same for barrage. Knockback always useful.
With longbow rapid fire shooting in a 2 sec span i scare them off coz i do to much damage to quick. With shortbow i never ever scare them coz the damage is to slow.
Sb is nice if you enjoy long fights. LB is nice if you want your oponent to be quickly dealth with.
I hardly ever use lb autofire coz its just to slow, plus i’d need to take more distance while i prefer being reasonably close to throw my splitblade in their face, even though at a good distance ive seen shots of critting for 3k, usually 1.5k though.
I only use lb for rapid fire, barrage and knockback combined with petswapping quickness, fury from weapon swap, and zephyr. Then switch back again to my axe/horn.
The problem with mesmers is them getting the jump on you. Then its harder to distinguish the real from the illusion.
I dont find it to hard to find the real player though. You can tell by their behaviour, the amount of damage they take etc.
Longbow and axes works very well against them. Longbow barrage and the bouncing axes kill off most of their clones in no time.
Have 3 clones around you and you dont know which is the mesmer ? Just barrage lol.
However probably the easiest way to counter a mesmer, or any other class for that matter, is going heavy toughness and full beastmaster build.
With 2k toughness and your cat pet hitting like a truck you dont have to worry about anything much from anyone.
If you want to have time finding the real player between all those clones, stack enough toughness.
Ofcourse this works for spvp, wvw is a whole different matter where they usually get the jump on you, are in a zerg, culling issues etc.
For instance, In wvw i dont stand a chance against thieves coz of culling. In spvp they are 10 times easier coz i can see them.
Pets still royally suck in zerg in wvw and in dungeons though with dungeons i mean fractals, since i dont play the other dungeons anymore. They die way to fast.
They dont have agony resistance in fractals and do not live long enough in wvw zerg. Unless you spec 300 beastmastery but then your glasscannon if you still want some power/crit traits.
I have not played my ranger in a few months and started playing some wvw again. I dont notice any difference to be honest. As a matter of fact prob rangers are worse off now then before. At least on my server there’s alot more mesmers now spamming feedback and warden and thief’s still mostly kitten me. There’s simply alot more mesmers and thiefs now. Kill rate wise it seems the same as before. You feel pretty strong till a thief comes along and ends that feeling.
Ive decided to go play my mesmer instead. I love the ranger for it’s pet but since the pet dies so often in fractals and wvw and pets are part of the ranger tools i feel my mesmer has alot more to offer.
Ofcourse spvp is a whole different matter. Im sure in spvp rangers do pretty fine.
alright thats all i wanted to know. thanx
Hi,
First of does dodging help prevent an agony tick ? Meaning you are already hit by the agony attack and it starts ticking away and then dodge to prevent 1 tick of damage. Does this work ?
Another question is does protection give you 33% less damage of the agony attack each tick for as long as the protection boon runs ?
Thanx,
Since any pet dies due to agony or area damage anyway you can just as well go full beastmastery with panther/lynx or whatever out. Use traits to let them heal on crit, have natural regen trait, have the you/pet natural regen signet running, use trait pet has bigger heals, use pet heals on crits and you’ll see your dps fly up big time. No ranger spec not relying on pet can out dps that. Thats constant crits of 1k and up extra from your pet.
My cat only dies due to agony or crazy big hits in fractals at least. Since my bear also dies then i figured i could just as well go the highest dps pet to up my dps big time.
with the beastmastery trait that gives pet improved healing, not sure if that influences it, and 30 in beastmastery my pet revive heal ticks for over 1k. Its a pretty fast revive.
Im not sure however. Wasn it before that when your pet was dead he still would revive ? I could swear if he gets killed during revive he doesnt rezz. Not sure if this was like that before.
The whole ‘’through observation’’ detection method seems bull. How come then alot of the bots i report day in day out are still there farming the place 24/7. its not like they teleport. They go in trains of 4 or more and just run the same circle day in day out. I know plenty of other people have reported them too but still weeks later they are there farming the same area.
I dont believe the whole ‘’we countered the bot problem’’ story. Its a fairytale they want us to believe. Sure they countered a portion of them but so many obvious bots are still running around the same places they’ve ran for months already.
Btw they indeed also use exploits. Ive seen bots in wvw farming the swamp while basically all i could see was their healthbar just above the ground. They’d only appear when making a kill then going ’’underground’’ again where just their healthbar would show, very hard to identify then for reporting.
Could be a glitch or purposely programmed that way. Ive seen teleports too at mines/wood which were at nodes that are randomly placed every week so its unlikely those are players which log in and out again.
I dont do node runs anymore in certain zones like malchor’s leap etc but i used to encounter the same bots every single day and me and others would report them every single day. 10+ bots farming the same spots. How come any observation by the team wouldnt have spotted those ? Then i’d go orr and come across more bots. On a single day by just doing node runs i’d be reporting 20+ bots a day.
This was just a couple weeks back.
Dont believe everything they say they did.
For pve at least my build works very good. Better then a shatter build. Shatters miss to often and rely on deep illusions to much.
What i have so far. Im sure its improvable.
Offhand sword in this case is great. I get double block which retaliate for alot of damage, swordsman goes in their face and hits hard. I dodge in between to kill off clones. This way the mobs get alot of conditions on them in no time. Anything they kill themselves just gives them more conditions.
Ofcourse depending on the situation i can swap out offhand sword for focus or pistol but i prefer any phantasm that gets in their face so them getting killed, by my dodge or by them, benefits me.
On top of that i get great defense.
Im still planning to mess around with something else besides the greatsword.
