This might be a little bit of an ignorant or stupid question, but one of my main problems with the game was that EVERYONE was a Zerker and that’s all the majority of the people wanted (including rush dungeon runs).
I’m not asking for the tri-force like tank, healer and dps or asking if like in the raids dedicated roles are the standard now, but all I want to know is: is there any variety available?
Yes I understand there is the whole thing about “Oh just get a group for yourself that is okay with that”, but unfortunately I don’t have the liberty of having friends that play GW2 :P and it would be awhile to find competent people for it normally.
I just want to know in the game now is there any other actual builds other then Zerker?
So one of the main reasons why I STAY AWAY from playing a warrior is because all I see is “LF Zerk War” about 20 thousand times in chat and whenever I look for decent builds all I see is “All Zerker” about 100 thousand times. I am interested in the class a bit because I do like the archetype of a warrior, but I want to play a build that isn’t as kittened as Zerker War.
The main reason why I stay away from zerker wars is because all I see from them is a tremendous amount of damage but no survival at all, all of the zerk warriors I have seen are glass cannons; and that turns me completely off from them. Do you guys have any opinions on this? Was it the players builds/gear that was making it glass cannon or is it really glass cannon?
P.S I am extremely interested in Bruiser like builds, specs that like to get in there do a fair amount of damage and survive to longer extents. If you guys can provide me with a build like this that would be awesome
P.S.S (Totally off topic, but it kind of relates to above post) I have a 80 guardian whom I love playing, but the only Guardian builds I can find are Supp/Tank like builds. I made a shout build that did decent damage and decent support, but if you guys have a cool bruiser build I wouldn’t mind the link for that too
stay away from rangers and possibly engies. Anything else would do, mesmers and warriors being top tier
Very unhelpful answer. I’m not concerned with what is “top tier”, I’m concerned about what is fun, but what is “viable”
THIS IS A PVE THREAD/QUESTION
Hey guys, I have been playing GW2 for awhile now (since the betas) and I have pushed a guardian to lvl 70 (10 levels from WvW, I got bored of questing in GW, but thats another topic) and I have played basically every profession to lvl 15 in PvE and played everyone in sPvP and can’t fully decide what I want to play. I do believe in fun > OP numbers; after all skill makes the player good, no numbers of the abilities/stats.
I love playing every play style and almost every profession. I guess my real question is: what profession + build do you guys prefer playing and playing with in dungeons (I am a end game player (“GW2 is all end game” blah, blah to an extent there is an actual end game -.-) who loves to dungeon and raid (which would be basically WvW for GW2 :P).
BONUS QUESTION!!!: I have a PvP build for Guardian that’s a suppport/bruiser kind of build; it’s Sword/Shield and Hammer shout build. Does anyone know if this type of build can work in PvE as well effectively?
BONUS QUESTION2!!!: Are Rangers that bad? I have tried a Ranger and I liked them a bit. Is it just players who don’t know how to micro-manage their pets or just Rangers themselves?
Hey guys, I’m a long time MMO’r and has gotten competitive in high/mid end pvp/pve when I could (mainly in WoW, SWTOR, and other games). I joined Guild Wars 2 thinking that I could satisfy my needs without being competitive/cooperative, but turns out, I am wrong.
None of my Gaming/RL friends play GW2 or just don’t want to and I’m looking for a group to play t/s pvp. I want to start by getting together a group on skype (or if you have a TS/Vent there) and play together doing some free tournies. If interested send me an in game mail to Rezash or my GW2 ID.
Please note: I’m not looking for an ESports team; I’m looking for friends who are good at what they do, but also have fun doing it.
I enjoy the game and I do basically EVERY aspect of the game, I crafted when I had a good supply of money/mats, I gather, I do events, story quest, and I explore what’s on the way to events. I hate the exploration and I feel as if it’s a waste of my time to do them, I don’t wanna be forced to go to a “X” marked on the map just to get caught up in leveling. I see and enjoy enough of the world by doing events, gathering, and getting WPs. I tried leveling in different areas, but it seemed a bit slow.
What I’ve been doing actually for the past couple days is WvW, and I’ve gotten from 60-70 in about a day (of game play) and I’m having fun leveling that way. I’ll just WvW and do my Story quests when I feel like it a bit (or get to over leveled)
leveling should mainly be done with events.
Not sure what you’re doing, but that’s exactly how I leveled up. Are you sure you’re not missing half of the events because you move along too quickly?
Im doin every event and then every dynamic event I can. And I’m still behind, I’ll be 2/3 levels behind in events/story
leveling is already extremely entertaining
would you like a nice small room full of respawnable mobs to kill for 10-20 hours to get max level?
sorry but I can`t respect people who don`t enjoy exploring the beautiful world Anet has created for them.
the play-style you probably want is the boring one
No I’m not asking for an asian MMO -.-
The way events are done there’s plenty of ways to explore the world, i love the world that Anet made, its beautiful and epic. But forcing us to go to specific points for xp to level is dumb, leveling should mainly be done with events. And no the play style I’m looking for is a one that doesn’t force the player to do every single thing in the game when the player gets enough of it already just by doing events.
Hey guys, I’m a long time MMOr (about 11 years now) and I have played almost every popular (or semi-popular) MMO and have almost gotten to level cap in every single one of those games if I enjoyed the game. Guild Wars 2 was going to be my new main MMO since every other MMO cost subscription and I just am going through financial problems.
With that said I have been playing GW2 for awhile and I actually enjoyed leveling for the first quarter or so of it and I LOVE the pvp for the most part, but after a certain amount of leveling it got TEDIOUS. I’m always behind events when it comes to the level of the event and the level I am. And ArenaNet pushes the player to do exploration and other things to level, which makes me feel like I wanna shoot myself in the head from boredom. Is there anyway to make leveling more entertaining and actually feel like I’m progressing?
