yea, but I don’t think it was intentional for you to be able to make that jump and go to the bonus round of W2. It was probably an oversight, especially since Josh confirmed that dodge jumping isn’t something that he and his team used to create the SAB.

I should have known that it just meant a daily lock out (ArenaNet official policy now, not “Is it fun?” but “Is it a daily?”) without a reduction in the blue skin prices (which are going to be rarer than the green/gold ones which are less time consuming to “farm”).

Blue skins are going to be more rare than green/yellow skins? lol, are you crazy?

In the 1 month it’s out people who run trib can easily make over a dozen green/yellow skins. The blue skins are actually more time consuming to get and, unlike green/yellow, they won’t be coming back. (A green skin takes what? 40 minutes tops on repeats?)

For one, you can buy blue skins on the Trading Post. The average price might range between 5 and 15 gold depending on the weapon skin, which isn’t really that expensive at all. On the other hand, Tribulation skins are account bound, which definitely adds to its rarity.

You can farm 14 Bubbles every day if you just focus on completing both worlds and their bonus round. If you spend the time to learn most of the dig sites and chests in each world, you’re looking at another 6 Bubbles (1,500 Baubles converted). I am NOT including Baubles dropped from enemies or those found naturally throughout the level that are not locked daily. I’ve done these runs. They take no more than 2 hours, with the first world taking less than 30 minutes.

On the other hand, you have Tribulation mode, which requires a certain level of skill to beat even when you have memorized where all the traps are located. The tokens are also account daily, so at best, you can only have 30 of any Tribulation skin, and that’s assuming you have beaten an entire world starting since the first day.

If you REALLY care about those blue skins, you can comfortably play for 2 hours and get 20 Bubbles each day. Within 5 days you can get 2 blue skins playing for 10-12 hours. And that’s not even taking into account that there are plenty of Bauble spots in each zone that can be repeated over and over to get 250 Baubles in less than 20 minutes, which means you can get an EXTRA 3 Bubbles with no time restriction within an hour. Plus, some people could have simply saved up their Bubbles since during the first update it was really easy to farm Bubbles back then.

In conclusion, if you care about the blue skins, you can get 20 Bubbles daily PLUS 3 more for every hour you spend doing Bauble runs that aren’t daily bound. If you have a life like most people do, you’re not going to waste your time getting extra Baubles that aren’t daily bound. So you pretty much get 20 a day. In 5 days, you can get 2 blue skins for 10-12 hours of work. Also in 5 days you can get 10 Tribulation skins, half from World 1 and half from World 2. But how long would it take to get those skins, though?

That’s the main comparison being drawn here.

Is it too hard? Respect the awesome work

Look into the thread about Master of Spheres World 2, that either seems to be bugged

Hmm. Not sure which thread that is. But this problem should be fixed in tomorrow’s patch.

I think he is referring to this thread:

I’ve known this for a couple days already, and I thought maybe everyone else might also know about it, but I’m not entirely sure…

Just stand on the platform that is AWAY from the third and last hillbilly location so that the cage is directly between you and the hillbillies. It… doesn’t get much easier than that…

Regardless of whether this is a well known exploit or not, this shouldn’t be happening. I understand that the range of your auto-attack is super large, but it shouldn’t break that fight. Fix the range, or even easier, remove those platforms or move them even further away so it’s out of range.

I like the SAB hub, but...

yea, I was pretty much trying to rant about this “elite” platform that only those who do hard jumps AND run around for a long time can land on it. But the thing that I also would have wanted is a platform that looks deceiving. A platform that you THINK you can land on from anywhere, since it would only be mere inches higher than what you can jump. I don’t know, I just thought something like that would have been really cool, with all the new players having their curiosity piqued when they see so many people on one small platform and yet they’re trying to reach it so badly.

The flags are definitely weird. Also, the cannons are super weird. I think you can slightly control where you’re going to land after you get shot into the sky.

I really wish the virtual instruments were synthetic rather then ‘real’. Meaning, you have an organ or keyboard setup, and you buy sounds for it, so you can harmonize different instruments for different song types :-)

This is a really great idea, but only if you can access every pitch in the chromatic scale.

Why not set the notes to match the key itself, with octaves and flats requiring a key combo

Eg. “A” plays the note “a” in the lower octave. “A + shift” plays the same note in the upper octave and “A + alt” plays the flat version of the note (thereby a + shift + alt would be an "a flat in the upper octave.

This would of course need to be a toggle, one mode as it is now for those not musically minded, and one mode for those who are

I think that would be way too complicated and unnecessary. If you look at the keyboard, it isn’t intuitive at all to match every note to the inputs on the keyboard because of how unevenly spaced apart they are. Second, it requires for you to not only have a basic understanding of musical knowledge, but also to continuously look at your keyboard to make sure you’re hitting the notes you want to hit, as opposed to the setup that the flute currently has.

Incoming rant:

I think it would have been better if there was a specific spot near the middle of the hub that you can only land on if you go through a very long route around the hub. The longest route is obviously going to the clouds and reaching the flag that has the longest walking distance, which would be the flag between World 3 and 4. I can also say that you can go even further by dropping down to the cliff between World 3 and 4, since there is no other way of reaching it to my knowledge. For example, if you were able to drop down to that cliff and continue jumping on trees, like it seems to be possible (but is not) behind World 4 from the cliff, that would be really cool. I understand that if there was a spot near the fountain that takes the longest route to get to, you can simply drop down from the clouds. Sure, but that’s why you can move them around as an environment designer so it wouldn’t be possible. And before some people say that none of this matters, “it’s just a hub”, etc., some people enjoy messing around in the hub for hours on end to see what trees are possible to land on and which ones are not… or am I the only one?

So far, I think the only musical instrument you can buy from the gem store is a flute, which has a 2 octave range. However, the players who use this instrument are limited to playing in a specific major scale (E Major). It would be nice if there can be an instrument that allows all chromatic pitches within 2 octaves to be played. I understand that, due to the interface of the hotkeys, that might not be possible without reorganizing the hotkeys so every chromatic pitch has its own input on a keyboard that corresponds to an actual instrument, the easiest of which would be a piano.

I can imagine one particular setup for a C chromatic scale to mimic how it looks on a piano…

`—2—-3———-5—-6—-7——-
Q—-W—-E—R—-T—-Y—-U—I

(The bottom row consisting of letters would sound similar to the current setup with the flute, but the addition of the numbers on the top row would add the complete chromatic scale needed to hit any pitch within an octave)

Clearly, this becomes problematic because with this setup, the keys that comprise of the bottom row has to disable whatever hotkeys are given to those commands. For example, W would be considered “moving forward”, but what would happen in this setup? Would you still move forward or would you play the pitch “Re”?

I understand the complexity of having to deal with this issue, and I would hardly be surprised if this problem is the reason why the flute doesn’t have a chromatic scale.

But what if every note on a chromatic scale does NOT need to have its own input on the keyboard? What if you can use ONE single input to change the pitch of any note? What if the 0 key becomes the input to sharpen or flatten a pitch, thus changing it entirely? Okay, you might argue the 0 key is already taken. What if you add more shift inputs? I can imagine an extremely simple setup:

Just have a musical instrument with the setup that the flute currently has on the keyboard (keys 1-0), but use any other input, such as Shift+number_key to sharpen and/or flatten the notes you are playing.

ArenaNet, why hasn’t this been implemented? This would allow for creativity beyond imagination within the community. I, for one, would immediately buy any musical instrument that has the implementation of altering pitches by sharpening or flattening them using one or two simple keyboard inputs.

And if this can be possible with multiple instruments, such as the piano, violin, and guitar, then I can see the musically competent players in the community creating wonderful pieces of work which can only serve to expand the creativity that Guild Wars 2 has to offer.
