Did not work unfortunately…I was running GW2 for about 5~ish hours before it crashed the same way, then when I tried again and it crashed within like 25 mins the same way. I am going to try moving back one version of the nividia driver. Will post results
Will try this and let you know how it turns out!
Thank you! I will try this! Please let me know if there are any other solutions to try!
My EVGA GTX 970 is randomly crashing to black screen while playing Guild Wars 2, after ~5-15 minutes. GPU temperatures are not exceeding 70C, I’ve monitored them while playing – doesn’t seem to be related to temperature at all. Hasn’t happened in any other game so far.
I have done the following to try to fix/resolve the issue:
- Deleted EVGA PercisionX
- Deleted (full clean) all nVidia drivers and performed a fresh install
- Ran Furmark benchmarking tool for 3 hrs straight (with no problems)
- Ran Shadow of Mordor/Divinity Original Sin at max settings for 1 hr straight each with no problems
- Uninstalled and reinstalled Guild Wars 2
My PC Configurations are:
MSI-Z97-G55-SLI Motherboard
EVGA GeForge GTX 970 SC ACX 2.0
GSkill Rip-Jaws 16GB DDR3 RAM
Samsung EVO 240GB SSD
Intel Core i5-4690K Devil’s Canyon Quad-Core Processor
Corsair CXM 750W PSU
Windows 8.1 64bit
Any suggestions on how to fix this problem would be appreciated.

You missed the point of what I am trying to convey.
Firstly, experimenting in the heart of the mists does not constitute towards an accurate representation of World vs World or PvE, therefore the builds you use there will not be nearly as accurate.
Secondly, the builds you create are only as temporary as arena net’s fixes, updates, balances and new implementations. Thus anything you worked tirelessly for has an unknown period of utility.
Thank you for trying to answer my question but I would like a moderator or someone from Arenanet to actually tell us why this implementation would be negatively realized within the GW2 world.
I agree with this!
I strongly believe that the following options would not break or destroy the economy.
- Having just armor only being account bound
- Having only jewellery being account bound
- Having weapons being account bound
At the current moment none of these exist. However at the very least if one was implemented temporarily we could observe the effects it may have on the GW2 economy and decide from there as to whether or not to keep this.
As character builds change with each update, items that cost upwards of 20-250 gold become instantly sub-par with another build. This makes the game tremendously less enjoyable for players who create upwards of five characters and invest hundreds of hours of play-time only to realize that it was all for naught.
Account bound items would atleast allow the incentive for new character creation and experimentation. Once again, I am not asking for the items to be allowed into the trading post or be able to send it to another player. Just account bound so our characters can have the freedom to be experimental with new builds as ArenaNet is trying to already encourage.
Thank you.
