Well I tried this guys fix to Cider. I changed my vram settings to the 1028/512 one. That matches my cards memory. So far so good. Not sure why it worked, but I haven’t crashed since changing the values.
Thanks much!

Tried for most of the night, but had the same freezing problems. So far today, the screen freeze process has quickened. Graphics now are locking up around 30 seconds after entering the game. They look great by the way, like some kind of enhanced video or something. But unfortunately, still can’t play the game on my mac pro.
Oh yeah, after the freeze I get the following message till I shutdown for a minute or so
“Video hardware acceleration is currently disabled due to safe mode operation or a driver error.
Please ensure you have a working OpenGL Hardware Renderer and try again."
Played all week just fine, during the patch had the same trouble as the others with a blank login screen or patch screen, whatever it is called. After about 30 min of trying, the patch downloaded. Logged in fine and started playing. Screen froze about 5 min into game. Couldn’t get out so had to hold the power button to force a restart. Logged back in and same thing… about 5 min into playing, the screen froze. Not sure what else to tell you. Just hope it gets fixed.
Am running a ATI Radeon HD 4870 1024 MB
