Any opinion on mine?
I log in and everything is fine with a 20-60 msec ping. After 20-25 minutes into the game, this happens:
I guarantee concurrent participation rates are extremely low for raids.
I guarantee the devs will not come here and say raids are a huge success.
I would love to get participation stats, but that won’t happen…
So much this.
Everytime I see people complaining about raid being delayed or not being fun enough or new content not being made available soon, all I can think of is:
“Do these guys have any idea of how many people actually enjoy doing raids in the community?”
As time goes I have this feeling that Raids are seen as the “end-game” content but with no point in doing them.
A lot of people see them as too difficult to waste their time in, just wiping and wiping.
Let’s be honest: as today, either you have a raiding guild or a guild with some good, dedicated PvErs, or you have to find random people. Someday they’ll be good, someday great, someday bad.
And since 50% of these random people are those that “Omg, we wiped, bb” we’re at a point where if you really want to get that reward (yet to be fully disclosed) you’ll have to go through several wipes and different groups.
Is this bad? I don’t know, I’ve yet to kill Sabetha and only managed to kill Gorseval yesterday for the 1st time. I really enjoy the raids, because even if I get killed, at least I’m doing something challenging.
But how many people outside of the “top-tier” guilds/groups would agree with me?
Here’s what I currenly have. Note this is for working with pugs, which is why I picked vampiric presence rather than banshee’s wail
I can’t stand not having a passive movement buff.
So that being said
I’m running a signet build atm. What I’m bothered about now is the fact that other classes, especially guardians are able to hit a lot harder than us, it’s not even close.
I
I have a burning spec guardian
2hsword
1hsword/torchJust on burns alone he hits for 4k a tick plus his regular weapon damage which is between 1k to 3k hits…. in exo rampage armor.
My necro so far is averaging 900-1600-2300 dagger hits.
I’m OK with it so far, as my main reason for coming back after 2 years was to play the reaper.
So for me hopefully the introduction of 2hsword with traits chills that damage will be off the chart.
Where are you doing your testing because my necro was hit ting for 4 to 7k with daggers
Actually I confirm those numbers. I’m just back from a quick run in fractal. Lev 29, with a random group (that might be the reason). The dagger damage was way far from 4k. On the other hand: 8,8k crit with Life Blast was pretty nice to see
The build I always use is conditionmancer. This is because there are already plenty of DPS/Support builds in fractals. Just grab a guardian and some warriors and there you go.
I utilize conditions simply because I think the’re what the necromancer is best at. If you use 0-30-20-0-20, for example, and use scepter/dagger/staff, you get a ton of condition manipulation, bleeding, and poison, along with a bit of weakness and chill. Each of these conditions are useful in various situations.
So: why go condimancer instead of power? Because to utilize most effectively scepter/dagger which gives a lot of poison/bleeding plus some weakness/blind/cripple, you’re going to want a full condition build, perhaps with extra duration.
After the update, I might even consider going 30-30-10-0-0 just so I can get that extra duration and so that I can get a bit of regen with it as well.
I can’t believe I found someone who thinks like me that it’s not such a bad idea to use and abuse necro conditions.
I know that a bers necro can deal a nice damage, but it will be always replaced by a warrior, so what’s the point?
At the moment I’m using a full rabid equip with runes of perplexity, running a 30/30/0/0/10 build, and I love it. Especially when it comes to use a skill a the right second to interrupt a mob. Or to use epidemic to give burning, poison, chill, blind, vulnerability, weakness, bleeding and 3 stacks of confusion to the mobs around.
I know we’re not talking about 30k damage in 2 seconds, at least not on a single target, but I still think I’m more useful in fractal than any other “omg-only-bers-pro-ping-gears” who’s not able to dodge at the right time or uses the same skills on any encounter.
