+1 of course…
…and pls fix other bugs and rebalance this class.

  1. No one wants to have a thief in raid.
  2. Thieves are out of meta.
  3. Thieves have (now) even less support.
  4. Thieves are squishy as hell with lower health. (though same with Eles and Guards)
  5. Thieves damage/sustain balance is garbage compared to other classes. (as example: a necro can have up to 56k Healthbar and still deal good damage while having better sustain.)
  6. Thieves condi weaponset is disbalanced (D/D Powerset except #3, P/P Condiset except #3), no Access to burning.
  7. Stealth is almost useless cause of the many aoe, traps and reveal skills in PvP/WvW. That was supposed to be our biggest defensiv skill.
  8. Other classes can reveal us while the “master of stealth” can’t do anything about it.
  9. Scorpion Wire is a broken Utility skill, no one cares. Withdraw was promised to have 10% more healing Efficiency, since it has now a longer cooldown. Nothing done til now.

And to top this all, instead of rebalancing our class to make the thief worth playing, A-net is ninja nerfing another skill!!!! WHY???

Never, ever, underestimate how gut-wrenchingly convoluted and frustrating every facet of programming can be… (spoken as I finish my C++ final ahem)

Man, C++ isn’t even the worst language when it comes to bugs, haha! Just wait until you get to the wonderful world of professional software development. There’s a reason game developers are so often falling back on “it’ll be released when it’s done.”

So I’m totally cool with being patient for fixes and everything. The only thing that bugs (heh) me slightly is the fact that there was a time when phantasms worked fine. Or, you know, at least they worked better than they do now. GW1 didn’t seem to have too much trouble when it came to hotfixing bugs, even if they just did a rollback. Thus, I just have to ask: what happened?

The game wasn´t finished yet or the state of the game is unstable. (i guess)
As i started playing Gw2 i reported every single bug i found in the game but to see how slow things are going forward, its hard to believe that the game is already finished. And as example: To wait so long that they fix the mesmer bugs is making me believe that something is going terrible wrong there.

Phantasm delay will be reduced to .25s in the next patch according to the dev. I would like the cast times to be reduced by .25s to make up for the delay. The dev’s said that instant attacks from the phantasms weren’t OP but were causing some other non-specified issues (and the instantly attacking phantasms were caused by a bug in the first place).

That´s not the point. If that story about instant attacking is causing some conflicts, then why does the mariner skill still works properly without delay? It works right now, without causing any troubles.

The point is: competence or incompetence. Has a-net the ability, the programmer on their side who can handle this or will they fail to fix it?

And: Are they really eager to fix it or are they not? Because a-net could also try to sell us some kind of stories about why it was impossible to fix this problem at all. You would never know the truth behind this all.

At the end you will have to trust them or you don´t. You´ll have to take the result or you don´t want to. You have to go on playing this game or you don´t like it anymore and you stop, that´s the point. We have no democracy in this issue. You can whine but you don´t know if a-net cares about it. We will see the result soon and i say very honest: When the result isn´t acceptable, i´m done with it then. I don´t like to roll other classes. I don´t like the other classes at all and i think i´m not the only one with this opinion.

You guys are really optimistic, believing a-net will fix the mesmer back to the state of before 15th of Nov. For those believers, good luck. If there is a problem with putting the delay under 0.25sec, then why does the mariner skills still works properly without delay?

They had time enough to fix the ibezerker bug but it´s still unsolved, leaving the class with the Dez 3th patch more broken than it ever was. The answers given by JP only shows up how unaware of the mesmer a-net must be when he asks us in a statement, how big the damage output of ibezerker was before the patch in Nov? No documentation made?

The argument that the delay shall give opponents the chance to react is ridiculous, cause the damage of the ibezerker was never so high to be a problem with. On the other hand, when ibezerker is so powerful, then why 100blades or heartseeker has no delay implemented? It makes much more damage and works instantly. Is the fact that LoS or being blinded not enough to avoid the damage, now my phantasm must first knocks on the door, here i am? Dodge now! Mesmers must be really a pain in the a** for a-net dealing the class this way.

Oh yeah, but i´m a great supporter and shattercat. First LoS, then decreasing dmg of ibezerker and now delay of phantasms, whats next? But i have my ultimate solution of that problem found. I´m out.

Is it fair to run arah in a random group with other classes, knowing to be a millstone around their neck all the time?

I wouldn’t go that far, mesmer is still VERY strong in PvE, may it be survivability, support or damage.

When my phantasm dies, my damage output gets down. I am not playing the mesmer only because of the support. And by the way, there are more powerful supporter on the run as the mesmer is. So, don´t tell me the mesmer is still strong and those things. I am ready to quit this game once and for all. I love the mesmer and don´t wanna play another class only cause A-net is destroying the class with each new patch.

Now its out. This ‘bug’ wasn´t a bug, its intended. So what i got now from my mesmer is a wrack in damage and game-play.

And i lost completely faith in A-net since this. The answer is giving by JonPeters in this Thread also gives me a feeling like we have been ignored for the problem that´s coming out with this ‘only one second or .5 seconds of delay’ that is intended.

And that problem is:
The Phantasms dies now faster before they even start attacking = decreasing the damage output of the mesmer once again and makes him a wheelchair class. And by the way, there is no statements to the high damage output of other classes. Is it fair to run arah in a random group with other classes, knowing to be a millstone around their neck all the time?

I hope this ‘bug’ is not an intended change in the game-play of the mesmer cause i really can´t imagine how to ‘bug’ this. I mean it seems to me, this is only a parameter input WHEN the phantasms have to start attack when casted.

This class was not only my first one, also i liked this class most than all others in the game.

And now to see how a-net is breaking this class with this big bug apart, makes me sad and also angry cause now my phantasm gets first a hit from a npc BEFORE he even start to do ANYTHING. Very bad when you have to fight against more than one npc or when your opponent are running away from you (PvP, WvWvW), or is a Veteran or Champion.

And because of the little amount of health that phantasms have, this means a lot of damage loss, forcing me to change my game-play or my class or to quit playing this game when like in my case, the mesmer was the only class i wanted to play in Gw2.
