Posting here to say that it looks like even now, four months after this thread started, the problem still isn’t fixed.

I’ve been getting suppressed more and more recently for sending very few chat messages, so I assume once the system’s targetted you once, it gives you less and less leeway each time. I had a brief conversation in /say chat recently, followed by me barely speaking for an hour while a few guildies were talking in /say too. When I tried to speak again, I got the “suppressed due to excessive messaging” warning – this being an hour after my last message, while none of said guildies had any kind of problem despite talking far more than me.

Tried contacting support, but they’re still saying the same thing someone posted in the first page of the thread four months ago:

Thanks for contacting the Guild Wars 2 Support Team.

We received your update letting us know that you still are unable to chat in the game. We would like to provide you with information that will help you address this situation. You account’s chat privileges have been temporarily suspended and the timer on that suspension is in GAME time, not in real-time hours or days. Therefore, logging off or waiting until the next day to rejoin the game will not remove the suspension. The way to regain chat privileges is to enter the game and remain silent, allowing the chat suspension to run its course.

I understand you might want to periodically check to see if you are able to chat again, but those lines of chat may actually extend the suspension, so we advise keeping those to a minimum. If you have refrained from using in-game chat for several hours and you still are unable to converse in the game, please update this ticket and we will do some additional research. However, we believe that you will be able to chat within a modest amount of time.

Thanks very much for your cooperation and understanding.

Dwarves. The possibilities?

Assuming they’re going to do an elder dragon per expansion and want to introduce a new race with each (which would make sense to me, since they don’t cause any problems to actual game balance and make people happy), I can’t think of a better option for the Primordus expansion.

Asura? Already got ‘em. Beyond that, there’s pretty much just dredge or skritt, who are almost exclusively used as enemy mobs in the game. For either to be playable, there’d have to be something that made them suddenly want us all to be friends.

…oh, and if we want the dwarves’ help against Primordus, we’d probably not be doing the right thing by making friends with their hated former slaves.
