None of the Guardian (Norn) shapeshift abilities begin with an auto-attack. (Ctrl+click’ed ability)
The shapeshift lasts 30 seconds, which means the user has to waste precious time setting an ability as the auto-attack ability.
Please set the #1 attack on each shapeshift form as the default auto-attack ability so that the user does not have to do this.
I can’t remember what the mechanical reasons for not having it were, but they were good…
If A-net ever works around them, I’d like it though. +0.5 it’s not important, but has half my vote.
There are no mechanical reasons. If there is a mechanical issue with first person view, all one has to do is scroll out to third person view.
Stop remaking this, please let these forums be used for ideas to actually fix the problem, instead of just resetting often enough that they become ignorable.
The problems are persistent to such a degree that I may ask for a refund of Guild Wars 2. The product is currently broken. I hope they fix things soon!
Guild Wars 2 is befallen of bugs. They’re everywhere!
A daily server reset would allow for players to enjoy the game with some assurance that problems would be regularly solved.
This is a high priority suggestion. I cannot think of anything this game could currently use more than daily server maintenance.
A first person view feature would be a wonderful addition to Guild Wars 2. This would allow for screenshots to be taken properly, as well as for players to enjoy the game in first person view in general.
I attempted the fix you prescribed, but it was not the solution. I am still experiencing all of the bugs described in the first two posts of this thread.
The Norn epigraphy is based on the Northern European cultural form of inscription, also known as runes.
Dissatisfaction with a flowing language is likely the product of Norn psychology, which is shaped by a prolonged pattern of life. The Norn are hunters, warriors, and conquerors of the harshest elements. Their way of life is conducive to that of a bear’s: prolonged state of waiting, or hibernation, followed by sudden action, or, in this case, hunting. Consider hunting, itself: It is a process of patience followed by decisive action.
That the Norn have more than one word for hunt is no surprise! The climate of the homeland of the Norns is not conducive to farming on any scale. The entire Norn culture has, presumably, hunted and consumed game, animal flesh, for thousands of years. This would explain the large and durable Norn physique, as well as their honed combative instincts.
The problem with this is that game is eventually hunted to extinction, and, like the Northern Europeans, settling arable land will become a priority as the Norn population is no longer supported by the game of the frozen lands.
A real world example of this natural process is encapsulated in the aurochs.
If the Lore of Tyria follows the lessons of the history of our own world, part of the Norn will one day merge with a race inhabiting arable land, likely the Humans. It is also possible that the Norn population never reaches the critical point wherein hunting is no longer able to support the population; this may occur due to a population decline, such as from war, famine, or other catastrophe.

I had the same issue. There’s not supposed to be an “&” there, but rather a “•” .
Easy fix. Right-click the GW2 shortcut on your desktop (make one if there isn’t one), click “Properties” and at the end of the “target” line, add " -repair". Make sure there’s a space before the dash, and that you’re adding this OUTSIDE of the quotation marks.
Double click the shortcut, let it run the repair, then restart your game. Fixed it for me!
::edit:: The ? is caused by the same issue. It should be a —, but something with the encoding got corrupted. If you ever have to type an accented character and it crashes your game, this is likely the same issue and the same thing fixes it.
Thank you for your reply! I will attempt the repair which you advised. I’ll inform you of the outcome later.
Server: Sea of Sorrows
The Frozen Maw event in Frusenfell Creek of the Wayfarer Foothills is bugged and has been bugged for several days (over 48 hours).
Scholar Brogun, the non-personal computer entity which progresses the quest, is and has been idle for several days.
Server: Sea of Sorrows
Here is another example of this bug, a strange symbol where an intelligible word should be.
The signature of the letter has an odd ‘A’ before ‘Brian’.
Server: Sea of Sorrows
I am experiencing an extremely high volume of strange symbols where intelligible English words should otherwise be. I have attached a screenshot of an example of this bug. Other instances of this bug occur frequently in mail from non-personal computer entities.
Note the E with the line over the top of it where the word ‘and’ should be in the screenshot.
