Every time I log in and load my character, the game is essentially frozen in a state of lag, and then I get D/C’d about 15 seconds later. It all started with the Karka invasion, and it is incredibly annoying.
The thing that completely sucks is the fact that if your game D/C’s or crashes you will be unable to rejoin your group, forcing them to lose all progress to either pick you or another person up. For example, earlier today I finished 2 fractals with a group, and on the 3rd one (the asuran jumping puzzle one) my game crashed right in the middle of a jump. I just ended up leaving the group because they seemed to be managing with 4 people. Then just about an hour ago I was in a group, and the second fractal was the jumping puzzle one again. And guess what? I crashed on the same exact jump. The group agreed to leave and pick me up after they finished it, and about 30 minutes later they do. Then we are in the grawl lava fractal, and not 2 effin’ seconds in, I get that ridiculous “Incorrect Password” bug, and am booted from the game again. At this point, I was so mad at Anet I didn’t even bother launching the game again to explain what had happened, so I had just stayed off.
It is a great dungeon, but if this bug (or possibly feature?) doesn’t get removed, I will never do this dungeon again.
Edit: And do not blame the game crashing on my computer. I have a custom built $1100 computer and it is not responsible for this.

My game crashed while I was in Fractals of the Mist and now I am unable to get back to the same instance as my group. Any help would be appreciated.
My internet is very bad because I live in a rural area. When it works, it works well enough to play GW2, but the main problem is that it occasionally goes out for about 30-60 seconds. If this doesn’t irritate me by itself, it seems that every time I do a long story quest, right when I’m at the end of the 45 minutes it took me to get that far, I always disconnect and lose all progress. It has literally happened to me 5 times in the last 3 story missions. For one, why do you lose all progress when you leave the instance? And secondly, why do you leave the instance at all when you D/C? That doesn’t just apply to story missions either, but also dungeons. I’ve never seen an MMO that teleports you out of an instanced zone when you get D/C’d. It just really bugs me that I keep having to repeat all of these quests from the beginning. Please ArenaNet, allow us to remain in instances after we sign back in after D/C’ing, and if that isn’t possible, then at least save our progress after we D/C from story missions?
THIS page has the driver and the CAP 2 profile for download for your card for a 64 bit windows 7 OS wasn’t sure about your OS so if it’s 32 just do a search for your OS
It’s 64-bit, I have the first one installed but I didn’t have the CAP 2 installed.

- RAM speed: How do I find speed?
- Video driver version (please don’t say, “the latest” because half the people who’ve said that I’ve caught not being on “the latest”) and configuration/profile: I go on Catalyst Control Center, and then down to Information —> Software Update and it says it’s up to date, is there something else I have to download?
- Monitor resolution and refresh rate: 1920 × 1080 60Hz
- How does GW2 perform at high and low settings? What does it autodetect? Best performance settings about 20fps, high about 10, autodetects a mixture of high and medium settings (I have an integrated intel graphics 2500 too).
- What are all your GW2 display settings? right now everything is literally on its lowest settings except for res which is windowed 1920-1080
- Where are you standing/viewing and getting 20FPS? the human start point
- What is telling you 20FPS? (options dialog?) options
catalyst version is 12.8, where do i find if its CAP 2
That seems rather low…
I’m running an i7-2600k with 4GB of RAM and a Sapphire Radeon HD 5850 setup in eyefinity (with bevel resolution it’s 5970 × 1080 across all three monitors) and I’m holding up around 50fps on average and dip to about 30fps in large events with huge amounts of players.
I used the “Auto-detect” setting to see what it gave me for the best “suggested” settings and everything is on high, though some of the post processing / high rez character models are disabled. You could check those and see what happens perhaps.
I hit auto-detect and it put everything at medium to low, is it maybe using the integrated intel GPU? If so, how to I change it??
Have you tried this sticky thread in the player vs player forum?

That says something being for Nvidia GPUs, I’m using an AMD GPU.
And besides, should I really need to change any settings to play an effing MMO with a $260 GPU with 2GB of VRAM? It just doesn’t make any sense!!
Can someone explain to me why my brand-new $1100 computer is playing Guild Wars 2, on medium settings, at only 20 fps? This is crap, there must be something wrong….
