So, when entering the Gladiatorial arena to defeat Waine, I noticed something funny. I had a friend attend the event with me and when I picked up Caladbolg, she became a target! Whilst the sword did 0 damage and we had fun jumping around like a couple of hooligans, I gave the sword to Branthyn and lo and behold! I could still hit her for real and do some good damage! That was for some good laughs, too.
Just a minor bug, not too major. But imagine the newly formed parties and friends leveling together. I could see some people killing other people because they can. xD
It won’t be so bad. I’m betting ANet gathered a lot of information about their own system from this event. In a way, this felt a lot like a test. Mass distribution of mail leading to every player and their siblings porting over to Lion’s Arch to participate in a huge event. Even the cutscene from Lion’s Arch to Southsun felt like it was something they were testing out. I just believe that the people who were unable to participate in the end event should still get something if they tried. They were part of the test.
Starving guinea pigs tend to whine a lot, if you haven’t noticed. ;P
Well, I can hope. The Overflows that were running the event were brand new, so it’s not like it was completely an exploit. I’m not so sure they will even come up with anything at all. That’s a lot of logs to go through to single out the individuals who participated enough. Guess people like us can only hope for what Grizzle is saying. Sometimes it’s fun to be the minority, other times, not so much.
So, after searching (instead of griping and giving up) I found a solution to missing the event the first time around. I got into an Overflow and dced at driving the Ancient Karka back. No biggie. Found another Overflow (and by God it was back at demolitions) and joined a party to solidify my presence in that OF. About halfway through driving the Ancient Karka back, there was a client-wide crash (no New Build or anything). Upon reconnecting, all events had been erased 2 hours before the day (and phase 3) was fully through.
Now, I was a bit sore only because I really wanted a whack at that Karka for the fun of the event, but my question is this: I know that people who got dced in the event before they could loot are getting compensated at some point, but what about us? The people who searched endlessly for an OF with the event, started it, but couldn’t finish it? I’m not talking about the people who were grinding OFs on alts, but the people looking for one last chance at the event. Are we in the same boat as the people who dced?
So here’s a good question. What about the people in the overflows a couple hours before the event ended that were subject to the client-wide dc? I was halfway through the event and happy, in a party even, so that if I dced I would get back into the same overflow, but everyone crashed for some reason.

(NA) If I can get in I’ll start inviting people, too so I can share the love. So far it looks like a lot of the groups are full up.
If there is an open group space with an event would someone throw me an invite? I had almost given up hope. (NA)
