I have to say, as someone who has already created HOPE, and was looking forward to the rest of the legendary weapons as the ONLY content I wanted from the expansion, I am EXTREMELY upset by this announcement.

The fact that this is even up for discussion is absolutely disgusting. You cannot tell us that we are getting content within an expansion, and constantly tell us “Oh yeah, expect a new weapon every quarterly update” an then just not deliver.

Nobody wants to play through your boring HOT Zones 400x times. I’ve already put together enough materials to make myself a second HOT Legendary; (yes, a SECOND one) and now I don’t even have the option to! Your suspension of this project is an absolute joke. Living Story 3 will be a joke, and more than likely feel like a chore. I cringed while I played through the bugged Living Story 2 (which by the way, has been bugged now for over a year.) and hated every single second of it. How can you even state that somehow Living Story 3 is more important than Legendary weapons? They’re separate design teams for a reason, leave them separate.

At the end of the day, you aren’t pushing the Legendary Weapons because the way to grind them out is seen as a monumental failure by the vast majority of the community. Nobody wants to grind through the HOT zones nonstop and be bored to tears while spending 3000+ gold on materials, and then have to go through a scavenger hunt for random “heart” vendors in Central Tyria to gather stuff that’s supposed to tell some type of lovely story. JK, there is no story, enjoy randomly waypointing to 45 different vendors around Central Tyria and killing this random wasp.

I really appreciate your desire to push more useless unmemorable content through LS3, I can’t wait to play through it and forget it 2 days later.

Having played against multiple Staff Thieves I can easily attest that Vault is a terrible, terrible ability when the person you are playing against has even the slightest bit of skill / reaction time. It is HIGHLY telegraphed, and an absolute joke to dodge. Sure, it has great “team fight potential” because, ya know, lets bring Thief into a team fight and expect it not to get blown up.

I don’t even play ranked PVP, but I would just simply suggest that you take the mathematics into account here. That person kindly presented you with the math and you were like “lel staff op kittens sumthing gg”

How does that provide anything to the conversation here? How does that progress your build or your play-style or anything else for that matter?

I recommend sitting down one day and trying to learn from others around you, especially those who play D/P or even Staff in high rank, and people who are kind enough to present mathematical evidence that CS is sub-par.

It doesn’t make any sense whatsoever to shoot Incinerator out of your Quip. I’m sorry that you hate your legendary, but some of us don’t hate ours, and would enjoy to see the animations that we worked on.

D/P 3 needs to either be re-worded, or actually rely on the pistol shooting. Not shooting a dagger out of it, and certainly not shooting a regular pistol shot out of HOPE. HOPE doesn’t even fire regular rounds, no?

So, I recently finished HOPE, and play Dagger / Pistol. Currently, as it stands, Pistol 3 does NOT shoot the H.O.P.E animation whatsoever, even though its clearly shooting out of my pistol…..

From what I understand, the ability is tagged to your mainhand weapon, so it plays off your main-hand. I don’t really understand why this is the case with D/P 3, as the ability clearly shoots a pistol shot. Also, if you have Incinerator in the main-hand, your H.O.P.E STILL shoots out an Incinerator blade, like that makes any sense to begin with. Last I checked the ability reads “Fire a shot from your pistol, and then shadowstep and stab your enemy” not “Fire you incinerator from your pistol, and then randomly stab them with the dagger that is apparently already inside them since you shot it at them with your pistol.”

I know, I know, I’m asking for a lot here from ANet, as they clearly don’t care about Legendary weapons at all, and Engineers have been screwed for eternity with Pistols not changing kits. But this is just 1 ability, how hard would this change be to implement? I makes absolutely 0 sense that my H.O.P.E is shooting a regular old bullet out of it, or chucking my Incinerator out of it as though that makes any sense to begin with. You HARDLY use Pistol 4/5, (except for obvious reasons, such as downstopping and stealthing, etc) so why not make H.O.P.E be worthwhile for those who play it in their off-hand? Give us the stupid little plasma ball we deserve.

This is also a massive issue that I’m facing. This event doesnt have a timer, and the fact that the event has to fail is absolutely ridiculous. I am considering standing around and offering people gold to not complete the event.

When your game state is THAT bad, you NEED TO FIX IT.
