Before you start the next pvp season fix the match making…. getting constant pug groups vs guild teams is really annoying. Has happened 3 times today already…. AND IT IS A SUNDAY so there is not a lack of people playing. Its just the matchmaking is a peace of junk.
Bring back separate ques for Conquest and Stronghold. not being able to que for a single match type because both of them need different builds etc is stupid.
So in the first year of ascension achievement group i already have finished 15 out of the 11 required achievements and noticed you cant progress until you done the 3 rank game wins a day for 15 days. Firstly if each part is time-gated to 15 days there is not enough time to do all 4. Secondly… REALLY??
Seriously this backpeice got off really well…. makes people play different classes, has divisions (in emerald still being ranked with amber’s) so it has some noticeable progression and has some funny items like the vial of salt. But time-gating is just a stupid thing to place in.
Ill just keep this short and simple. If you want to have pvp in gw2 be a popular esport you need to have a large community of players or people that are interested in spectating the sport.
And for the moment with this broken pvp system you just scare people away instead of bringing people in.
The over powered specializations, broken match making, only one type of que system and so on…
Lets just look at the match making. About a hour ago i logged on wanting to play a few pvp games. first game was decent but we lost due to a unbalanced team. 2nd game was terrible because in my team i had 2 people in my team who didn’t know how to change the que type and then went afk because they died. And last game i played it was a full pug team vs a full guild team.
All of this is enough to make many people quit pvp and never go back again…. and this is just a small part of the giant cluster of terrible mechanics that is gw2 pvp.
And now the fractal mastery is useless because they nerfed the bonus vendor to the point where you can just craft the agony for the same price.
So unlike 70% of the people with a high mastery level i didn’t grind it in cof. It took me forever to get there but i finally have the fractal mastery done. One of the bonuses this gives is a extra merchant on a seperate island in fractals. But the thing is…. it is broken and i am unable to speak to him “That content has been temporarily disabled. Please try again later.” it has already been disabled all day today so “later” and “temporarily” are no longer valid words to use. How long will it be disabled because this is ridiculous….

Yeah i have been stuck in a match for almost a hour.
The question is pretty simple. Will it be raised in hot?
Ill just start off by saying i have had maximum magic find (300) for a long time and there has been no noticeable improvement in drops. And being at the magic find cap raises a few problems. Biggest one being what to do with the luck.
Yes when you reach the magic find cap it would be easy and convenient to sell all the gear and items on the trading post instead of salvaging. But because of the sell limit on the trading post it is almost impossible unless you want to spend a few hours emptying your bags.
Or you could just salvage it all but then you will just have loads of luck piling up doing nothing. At the moment i am 313k luck over the cap and i fear one of 2 things with hot coming. 1. It will be wiped off the account 2. It will be forever useless.

Ok this is just my personal opinion and i just wanted it to go out here to see who else feels the same-ish way.
for the past one and a half years anet has constantly just listened to the moaniest casual players on the forums who constantly cry that some content in the game is too hard for them. Eventually forcing the game to be nerfed to suit their needs (one of many examples the huge difficulty nerf of Liadri the Concealing Dark in crown pavilion). And now guild wars has just become a grind fest. There is no difficult pve content even lv50 fractals it can be done while half asleep because the difficulty does not go up with fractal scales only the mob and boss hp just making fights longer. Of course there is one exception and that is the beloved Mai trin if your group is good she can be killed really fast unlike other bosses where you are just mashing your attacks for hours. Anyway back to my point because of this the good players and bad players are all dumped in the same spot of just do this easy thing a billion times and hope you get something nice out of it.
All of this can be easily fixed by adding things like hardcore modes for dungeons so casual players can do the easy stuff and the more experienced players (if they want to) kill themselves repeatedly at harder modes of them dungeons for a slightly better drop rates.
I understand anet wants gw2 just to be a easy going game where people can easily go in and out whenever they feel like and that is fine i do it constantly and many of my friends have done it as well. But the reason most of them left in the first place was because they got bored.
Anyway the point i was trying to make is that it is fine to have casual content but also leave some more difficult content for experienced players. So what they cannot do a boss or a dungeon right now… that at least will give him/her a goal to work towards that cannot be achieved in a sw chest farm.
And now we get to HoT the big change everyone was waiting for… I just don’t see it from the feedback i got from friends that were in betas and by watching SOME of the videos of the classes etc. It just looks like the same old thing with a re-skin. I’m sorry but i do not want to spend between £30 and £80 for a expansion to a game that i originally bought 2 or something years ago just because it had potential.

I have been a part of the ring of fire server seince i started this game and i didnt have a problem with this before. But ever seince i joined this ring of fire guild none of the guild buffs are applied to me.
Lets take magic find for example. My base magic find is 249 When i turn the guild off my magic find goes down by 4(and that is how much i get from my achievements) putting me to 246 mf. But it does not include the +10% buff i should get from my guild. And it is not just magic find… karma buff is broken for me as well have not attempted the others because there is not much use.
Solutions tried: kicked and re invited, join a different rof guild and a re-install of the game.

Going off once or twice is ok but seeing the same people continually getting in and doing the same thing day after day is ridiculous.
And i welcome random people if they cooperate and are willing to learn that is what being a commander is all about. Bringing people together and getting things done. But if they just ignore everyone or just say to f** off then it gets annoying and just ruins the experience and fun of new people.
And i was not talking about most world bosses that was mainly aimed at the 3 headed worm. Especially with the new changes we need to make use of all the numbers we can get. And the 10 spaces that could have been used on people who actually want participate rather than just leech loot can make a difference between win or a loss. And after that new people will have this idea in their had that the boss is just too hard and just give up on it not trying it anymore therefore locking themselves out of content just because of some trolls/leechers.
Well as many people who actually play the game may have noticed there are always many people that ruin the fun for everyone. It may be world bosses or just general events like crown pavilion. And they can go from lechers to spammers or just trolls. For example lets look at crown pavilion 75 people is the maximum server capacity and many people (like myself) try to organize runs so people can have fun and get loot and experience at the same time. BUT there are always people who just go in there and hit the boss once or twice and go afk still up scaling the boss and getting the loot from other people’s work. Or there are people who just do the gauntlet upstairs tag the boss once and get the loot again without doing anything when there are still people who actually want to play the game properly trying to get in to the map and they cannot. Same thing for world bosses a small percentage of people ruining the fun of others. The solution me and some other commanders came up with is report afk or leeching function. If a percentage of the map lets say 45% or something vote a person to be afk and a timer starts on the persons account (to avoid people kicking people off randomly) and if the person is not actively playing then he will be booted off the map or in to a different mega server. Or if the person gets many reports for leeching and afk it can be done like league of legends next time they try to join in a map for a world boss or a event they will just be paired with other afkers or lechers. [Also we discussed the option to change the reward system to reward players based on their participation and we went against it because that would punish the people who are still learning about the game and actually trying their best.] But yes this is just my view as a commander where people get frustrated and angry at the game on many occasions. And i would love to hear other people’s opinion on this and maybe for this to catch the dev eye.
