About us:

The Obsidian Dragon Order consists of a group of people that have been playing games together for some years now. Clearing all game content in an organised and steady manner is a high priority for us – whilst maintaining a fun, mature and stable atmosphere in the guild. As most of our guild members are aged 20+, you must be 17 or above to join us.

We see ourselves as laid-back and casual, but when it comes to getting stuff done we take it serious.

Our Guilds:

We have a long history of running a guild in World of Warcraft and Star Wars. But due to declining levels of interest from our members, our guild is not currently active in those games.
We decided to start a brand new guild for Guild Wars 2. We want to be active in all aspects this game has to offer, not just the PvE, sPvP and WvW, but also the exploring, jumping puzzles and all the other extra fun content ArenaNet is going to throw at us.

We have great trust and faith in ArenaNet and truly believe in the longetivity of this game. We plan to play this game for a very long time, so our guild is in it for the long haul.

Who are we looking for:

We are looking for active and mature players that are not only interested in running dungeons and sPvP events, but also like to have random funny chats in gchat and/or on team speak. Your social skills are just as important to us as your gaming skills.

We are looking for skilled players that know and understand their class and all the game mechanics. Players that know how and when to dodge, know what a combo field is and understands that fire is bad m’kay! (exept when its from another player, combo field etc etc )
Bear in mind that you dont have to be an extreme hardcore min/max, king of the pve/pvp kind of player, you are free to be so, but its not nescesery to fit into the guild.

What do we offer:

We offer a medium sized, drama free guild. We don’t like big/huge guilds where you don’t know half the people, so our aim is to get our numbers around 45 members, and as soon as we hit that target we will stop active recruitment. People are still welcome to join though. Because of the smaller size, our members have just as much input as the GM and officers, we are a democracy, not a dictatorship.

If you like to play very hardcore and do Dungeons/sPvP or WvW 24/7, then we probably aren’t the kind of guild you would like to be in. We DO like to play dungeons/sPvP and WvW, and we are in it to win it, but we dont play them 24/7.

We also run a well maintained site [odo-gw2.enjin.com] and have a 35 slot TS3 server.

Server:

We are playing on the European server Gunnar’s Hold.

Behaviour:

We are a mature guild that respects everyone’s opinion, religion and personal beliefs. You can disagree with someone’s opinion or beliefs, but you need to do so in a respectful way both inside and outside our guild.
You need to be aware that all your actions outside the guild reflect on the guild as a whole. Any misbehaviour outside the guild will have repercussions and will be dealt with by the officers.

Events:

We aren’t a guild where every event is organized by the officers. Every one can organize events via the event calendar on our site. The only rule we have here is that you organize your events fairly (whether they are daily/weekly/monthly or even one time events). As an example – if your event occurs more than once, you have to rotate people in and out to give everyone a fair chance to participate.

It’s funny how the ‘learn to play’ people never actually think to teach and just belittle.

My ele is only late 30’s and already finding pretty much everything must be kited / cc’d to hell because 5-6 hits and I’m dead. After having tried a warrior in the mists, and am going to level it proper after some sleep, I get the feeling it will be able to stand toe to toe with the same enemies and not lose more than 20-25% hp, and would be even better if I was actively dodging etc.

If standing there toe to toe boringly clicking 2 skills is fun for you, i say go girl \o/

i really enjoy my staff ele, i can handle multiple mobs attacking me with no problems at all, i enjoy the kiting, CC and pre-planing the spells that take a few sec to go off.

During dungeon runs i am pretty sure i have the lowest repair bill, i see other dying way more then me. (still laughing at that warrior that died at least 30+ times because he didn’t know how to dodge and move out of the red circles of doom :P )

Its L2play, if you can’t handle playing an ele, then go play a faceroll profession if you prefer that kind of play style…

just got stuck at this quest also, just after the big battle with all the ghost (just after you watched trahearne do his general speech). I have killed everything and now nothing happens, all the ghost just stand there…
