I’ve decided im getting a professional to clean my laptop / do the thermal paste here is what I sent to them:
Hi, I’m looking for service of cleaning of my laptop’s ducts and vents and reapplication of the thermal paste under my GPU / CPU. Is this doable / how much would it cost?
Is it only the ducts and vents that need cleaning, or do I need to clean other parts of the laptop? I already vacuumed the laptop from the outside to get rid of dust, is this enough, or should I get the technician to clean it too?

I’m not sure how to replace the thermal paste and I still have warranty on the laptop so I wouldn’t like to tear into my laptop at the moment. Is there any other suggestions?
I’m noticing the lagg spikes happening in league of legends as well.
GPU is around 70-75 degrees celsius in furmark, the temperature doesn’t seem to change in lagg spikes.

actually my pc has CPU: Intel Core i5-2450M, shall I still run furmark?

Hi,
I cleaned out the laptop as much as I can without opening it 2 weeks ago using a vacuum cleaner. No improvement in fps, do I need to open my laptop?
Whats TIM locx?
More parameters: Core VID seems to drop from 1.1V to 0.7V when the spikes happen, also the GPU core and memory clock don’t seem to change during the spikes, they are around 500 MHz and 750 Mhz respectively. Clock multiplier seems to drop from x29 to x7 or so during the spikes. GPU temp is 82c and doesn’t seem to change during the spikes.

Hi, my dad says that I shouldn’t break down the laptop to that level as theres a high risk of damaging it if im not careful, which im worried about :O.
My dad said he will help me do that over the weekend.
Should I let you know of the other parameters you asked for? Or are the parameters I gave you about the CPU temperatures etc enough?

Just saying, but im on a laptop and apparantly laptops have those kinds of temperatures.
During the spikes, the Core #0 and #1 seems to decrease in temperature from over 90 degrees to 70s. The load goes up from around 60% to 80-97%. I’ll let you know about the rest tomorrow, going to sleep.

Is core VID in CPU-Z the same as core voltage reported?
In GPU-Z there isnt a monitoring tab, theres Graphics Card, Sensors and Validation tabs, I can’t find Core / memory speed or utilisation in GPU-Z.
In CoreTemp is the utilization per Core the “Load”? And is Max reported CPU Temp the Core #0 and Core #1 temperatures?

Hi, title says everything. I’ve tried updating my drivers but it seems to have no affect. Any ideas?
This happens every few minutes for a few seconds
This didn’t happen before, it just started recently (last few weeks or so) when I decided to reformat my computer.
Thanks.
